I am a resident of AVIR at Granbury, nearly every right I have as a resident has been violated. Stay away. I should have taken the 1 star reviews and 1 star rating by Medicare seriously. They promised me the moon to get me here and have back peddled on every one of them. The facility is old and dirty. I woke up one morning to ants all over me and my bed. They refuse to heat up ice cold food... that is just the beginning of it. Please heed this warning for the physical and emotional well-being of yourself or a loved one. Melinda BSN, RN

They have a great team environment. Everyone helps each other. It’s like a small family as everyone knows everyone. They provide great care because they know the residents. They are able to spot the little changes and react quickly to find a resolution.

I had my mother in this nursing home years ago. She was in a locked unit, the only one in Granbury, at the the time. I witnessed abuse by the then aides. I walked in one day to see my mom in the shower and the aide sitting up against the wall shooting water across the room on my mom. My mother was shaking all over. Another time the nurse called the doctor on call to sedate my mother as she roamed around night and day. She was over sedated, and the next morning fell face first out of a chair and split her forehead wide open. I saw a little lady in a wheelchair being pushed by aide. She was asking where she was. The aide bent down to the ladies ear and said, "You're in hell." I witnessed so much neglect. I have to live with knowing how they mistreated my mom, however I had no options in moving her. I've lived with this everyday since.
