I would avoid this facility at all costs. They may have been better in the past before the new corporate ownership. They are understaffed, have no idea about their residents and the staff is not impressive (not well equipped skill wise and do not care). Our mother fell twice in less than two months and no one seemed to know what happened. I called and left messages for information and no response. As a result of the poor care and the falls, our mother has significantly declined - can no longer speak. Even the staff shared their concerns confidentially about understaffing and lack of care. I would give this place zero stars if possible. This is what happens when hedge funds invest in elder care - all they care about is the financial bottom line. Their spiel at intake is nothing more than a false sales pitch. Do NOT send your loved ones here. There are other better options in the Midland area.

My Aunt was in this facility for a month and fell twice. She was hospitalized with multiple fractures. She told us how the staff talked very poorly about other residents which broke my heart. She had PRN medication for anxiety that seemed to have been given far too frequently. As a current ICU nurse and former memory care aide for years, I was mortified to hear this. After this happened and she was moved to a much safer facility, they charged an absolutely ridiculous amount of money for not giving notice. I cannot believe how terrible care for our seniors is nowadays.

We had our mother's 90th birthday party in the dining room here and it was one of the nicest celebrations our family has had in years. The staff decorated, the kitchen made her favorite dessert, and the other residents came and genuinely celebrated with her. It meant everything.

As a nurse, I was particular about where my grandmother would go. The clinical standards here are solid, but what really impressed me was watching how the aides interact with residents during meals. There's genuine patience and respect in those interactions, not just task completion.

We had a great time at Brookdale. They were happy to give the family a tour right away, and they also had space for my loved one right away. They were willing to meet the needs of each resident. The residents got three meals a day, and they could pick what they wanted. They even gave the family meals while we were there. If a resident didn't want to go to the dining room, the staff would bring their food to their room. The staff was always available to answer the family's questions.
