My experience with Traditions Sherman revealed serious failures in communication and adequate nursing care. My family was never notified when our mother was sent to the hospital and was not kept informed of critical changes in her condition. She passed away after being at Traditions for only two weeks, which was after a two week stay at Cedar Hollow Rehab center. Additionally,, our clear instructions regarding her funeral home were also ignored the morning of her passing. These repeated communication failures caused unnecessary stress, confusion, and added expenses during an already heartbreaking time. We expected compassionate, competent care and clear communication, but unfortunately, that was not our family's experience.

I have a family member at Traditions Senior Living, and I’ve truly noticed a dramatic positive change since the new management took over. It genuinely feels like residents are treated like family now. Everything seems to run more smoothly and efficiently, and the environment is always clean and welcoming. Every time I visit, the staff is friendly, attentive, and engaged. I’m not sure exactly what changes were made, but it clearly shows in both the staff’s energy and, most importantly, in my family member’s improved spirits. It gives me real peace of mind knowing they are in such a caring and supportive place.

My dad’s dementia got 10 times worse while there for 4 months! They don’t do ANY activities with the memory care residents. They don’t interact with them. They treat them like psych patients and put them In a group in front of a TV. Every time I went to visit my dad’s room smelled like urine and he was always in soiled clothes. I had to ask them to clean his bedding because urine had seeped through his underwear and gotten on the bed. Once the technician began to get his bedding off there was feces on it! Horrible place for your loved ones!!

My father has called Traditions home since November of 2023, and it has been a positive experience. All the staff seem to care about him and are quick to respond when he needs assistance. If there are questions or concerns the staff is always willing to answer and discuss any concerns that exist. The general attitude is upbeat and the goal is to make the experience a positive one for all involved.
