My dad is here. The staff is friendly and accommodating. I've spoken to other residents here and they say the staff does a good job of taking care of them. I like the outdoor balconies you can sit outside on.

My former high school history teacher developed dementia with a strong experience of paranoia. As his Durable Power of Attorney (DPOA) it was my job to find a memory care facility. What I found was a world of "community fees," a well established commission-based referral network and the wide range of facility costs that mostly emphasized a pretty facility over kind, human caring. Now, two weeks since Ron has passed, I have a moment to review his stay at Plaza Village Senior Living in National City. While the facility is OK, the main difference is two things: 1) Timely response to all my questions and concerns. When something comes up, I want it handled NOW! No excuses, no unreturned voicemails or texts. Now means now. Sharon at Plaza Village gets an absolute 10!! As you might ascertain, I am a tough customer. To make me, 100% satisfied, still makes me smile how great the rapid communication happened. 2) How did Ron feel about staying there? = incredibly important as his remarks to other friends and family on the facility that I chose would influence forever my relationship with them. No one wants to go to a facility as they would prefer to go back to their home. While initially kicking and screaming, Ron told others, "Surprisingly, I like staying here." This positive review conveyed to the people that I will forever have to be accountable to, has given me a sense of relief and peace. What could be worth more than that? 100% recommend - Lucky, not knowing anything about memory care and assisted living facilities, that I found Plaza Village.

My mother recently stayed here for hospice care. The staff at this facility are beyond wonderful. It's hard enough going through the death of a parent, but the staff here did everything that they could to support my father and I. You can tell they truly care for the residents. I love the staff so much that I still go and visit them to say hi and thank you. I'm so grateful for everything they did for my mother.

Unfortunately I had to put my dad in a nursing home after taking care of him for almost 4 years. I looked at at least 30 places throughout San Diego, including "Board and Care" homes. As soon as I visited Plaza Village I had a different vibe. I had been talking with them for almost 7 months before I made my decision. I must say that I am extremely pleased with the staff and the care my dad is getting. I would highly recommend Plaza Village to anyone who has to make such a difficult decision. The staff is WONDERFUL and always willing to help. It is clean and doesn't have that nursing home smell. I can now move on knowing my dad is in a safe, clean and warm environment.
