We have lived at the Willows for just over a year And what’s not to like. This wonderful staff is very caringAnd helpful with our needs. and especially the residents are all very congenial.

We were looking for a home for mom where she could keep her cat. After extensive research we found the Willows. To our surprise, no steep deposit “To Buy” was required. Initially, the monthly rate seemed high, but as years went by, we realized that the Willows was a bargain. As we watched prices skyrocket around us, the Willows has managed to keep their costs under control. Their charges were reasonable and fair, as were their practices to keep the residents safe. I don’t know how they manage in this economy, but they have fulfilled their promise to my mother.<br>When my mother’s cat died, other residents shared their animals, and now she cat sits for her friends. I don’t know what their management secret is, but I have seldom seen such a devoted staff. Maybe it has something to do with a manager who has worked there since she was sixteen and seems to have experience every job in the place.<br>Their gym has a good variety of equipment, and the local area is pedestrian friendly. Paths through parks, and lighted crosswalks are available for cycling or walking. The local pharmacy is three blocks away and Trader Joes is 1.5 miles. For those who prefer transport, not only does the Willows offer limited transportation, but there is a city bus stop 100 feet from the front door.<br>There are signs of intelligent, creative, and interesting people everywhere. Neat displays of amazing oils, watercolors, and acrylic painting by the residents adorn walls. Concerts, church services, classes, discussion groups, bird watchers abound. The library is pleasant and quiet. However, when I walk around, I feel the buzz of active residents confronting the challenges of our world in constructive ways.<br>In terms of limitations, the east side of the building can experience highway noise, and residents may need portable air condition units in some rooms. That said, the benefits far outweigh the limitations, and we’ve never had a moment of regret of our choice.

If you or a loved one is looking for a place to live, I highly recommend The Willows. At a time when my mother-in-law was not wanting to worry about home maintenance, yard work, and managing home utility accounts, but still wanted an independent and active life, we researched her options. The professional and friendly staff and the lovely residents at The Willows made the decision clear! Once the decision was made, my mother-in-law was warmly welcomed to her new home. That is what The Willows is for her – not just a place to live – but a home. We enjoy our regular visits to The Willows as well as celebrating holidays and special occasions there (the seasonal decorating is amazing). My mother-in-law feels safe, secure, and part of a true community. She has been happy with her decision to move to The Willows and her family has too.

The Willows is the best retirement place around. The staff are wonderful, the activities are great, the location is beautiful, the food is tasty (and there are many choices). It is a really lovely place to live.

The Willows is so much more just a residence to talk about….this is a home to boast about. We live amongst trees and flowering spaces instead of streets and traffic. We eat in banquet style dining room with linen tablecloths and folded napkins. We have dinners prepared by chefs of different backgrounds and cultures to offer wonderful varieties of menus and foods to add to the ‘good ole American meat’n’potatoes. All the young people that serve us are ‘family’ who greet us with smiles and news. No matter their task, they are hard working, efficient, caring and loving.<br>We have daily, weekly & monthly activities available to keep our minds engaged and our bodies agile. Don’t believe me?
