I was going to be bringing my mother here to live until I heard about the man being trapped in the freezer & unfortunately dying. I received a phone call from The Waverly asking about my mom which a few weeks after & I informed them I was taking her to Sunflower Springs instead. The lady who called became very rude on the phone telling me people don't know the actual story & hung up on me. They need to close this place down or bring in new management. I'm glad I went with Sunflower Springs. Very good people there.

I just met the son of the man who was a dementia patient at this facility. He died in the kitchen freezer after leaving his room sometime before 12:30am and wandering into the unlocked freezer. Google it, your jaw will drop and this place needs to be held accountable. If you have a loved in this place, I would immediately remove them.

I would give it 1/2 star if I could! While this looks like a new shiny penny, the staff turnover here is unreal, new people all the time, some don’t speak good English. My mother is deaf and has a cochlear implant with a device used to process sound. Nearly EVERY time we went to visit she did NOT have her speach processor not matter what time we arrived! They kept it in the central office for the CNA’s to keep the batteries charged. Often all four of her batteries were dead! Imagine for a minute not being able to hear ANYTHING! We placed our mother here expecting at least a reasonable level of care. Her room stunk to high heaven of urine, her urine filled clothes were left in the overflowing laundry basket. AND the bed smelled of urine, and yes we complained to the director, Susan, many times, including my brother, who placed here here myself, AND our caregiver! She was supposed to be checked so that she was clean and dry every two hours…HA! She has discoloration on her skin and a rash from sitting in urine and feces. My Mother also requires assistance eating, she has Dementia, good luck with that, our caregiver fed her. Playing oldies on TV and occasional chair exercises by an activities staff member are all you get for engaging with the residents from my observation. We hired a private caregiver just so she could have showers and more attention to personal hygiene given by OUR caregiver in the facility . Our caregiver was there three times a week, then and ONLY then did she receive what we consider good care. If you love the person you’re considering placing here, THINK AGAIN!

My parents live in the memory care and the care they have had is exceptional! The community is clean and organized. The nurses aides are wonderful and so caring, making my parents feel loved. I would highly recommend The Waverly for Assisted Living and Memory Care, from the Admin, nurses, aides and Activities and the food is delicious:)

This is a wonderful facility. My Step Dad has been here since October 2024. The staff and administration are top notch. This was a difficult decision to make to place my Step Dad here in a facility and glad that we did. The care is important but so is the food, here are some pictures from Waverly's Thanksgiving Feast for the residents and families. The Waverly makes us feel like family.
