The Watermark at San Jose is a fairly new facility. The common areas are nicely done and inviting. There is not a toilet with a sufficiently elevated toilet seat for residents who need the extra height. The studio rooms are spacious with a walk-in closet and wet bar. Meal times are flexible with menu offerings that change daily as well as a rotating available anytime menu. There is also a small bistro for light snacks and coffee/tea. There are many activities throughout the day, and it seems something for everyone.

We moved our neighbor into the facility a couple of months ago. The resident orientation was lacking with many procedures not explained upon move-in. Like so many places nowadays, there seem to be staffing difficulties and inconsistent training resulting in the promised services not being available. We have found communication to be slow with messages not answered timely if at all.

Despite the glitches I expect The Watermark at San Jose is among the better of assisted living facilities and the staff tries to make things right when there are difficulties.
