My sister and I recently moved our elderly parents into The Villages at Youngtown. My mom was in such need of assisted living as my dad had been her caregiver for the past 15 yrs after her stroke. At almost 88 yrs old, he just doesn’t have the strength to do it now. The staff was and is so kind, friendly, accommodating, and helpful to all of us especially my dad who has been beside himself trying to make this all work out. Mom and dad were able to get 2 adjoining rooms with a door between to use one for their BR and one for their LR, and it works out great! They can be together and still have nice space for the 2 of them. My sister and I both live out of state, but feel comfortable and grateful that we found the Villages for our parents’ safety, security, and happiness. I’d like to give a special shoutout to Taren, Austin, Carmen, and Michael who all were so helpful and genuinely patient and kind to all of us. Thank you!
Kind regards,
Mary Riffle

I moved in on 12/26/23. It was good for about 1.5 years then everything changed. The front office and director never returned a phone call or an e-mail. The director kept cancelling town hall meetings and when you did catch her to ask a question she would say I’ll get back to you and never did. People were so frustrated. The transportation was cancelled due to no registration on the vehicles and no insurance. The activities were dismal. On 12/29/26 I moved out along with many other people. As of today they have a 49% capacity of residence.
I live in a wonderful independent living a mile away and come to find there are 16 people from the villages there. I had no idea how unhappy I was until I moved.

I find these reviews amazing. The Villages at Youngtown became the owner in November of 2025. If you look at alot of these reviews they were done way before then. Anything that was posted before November of 2025 was LifeStream (not the Villages at Youngtown). I find it amazing that you are responding to reviews that were prior to the buyout. LifeStream was great until the buyout. They stopped doing transportation back in November and I have text messages telling us because they did not have transportation due to Insurance and Registration. They were taking a risk by driving the residents from the south campus to the north campus. They would not take us for shopping etc. We did loose security. I could go one and on. I will say this. I did find a place that is cheaper (way cheaper) does have transportation and takes care of the residents. I have brought some people over from there and they have brought people over and so on, and so on.

Although the community has new owners, and the journey was a little bumpy, everything has exceeded our expectations. The Director, Robyn H and the members of her team, have provided our family with security, affordability and availability. Robyn promptly returns phone calls and is quick with assistance. Several of the caregivers have been there over a decade and provide Mom with exceptional care. Mom is happy and safe. We highly recommend stopping by for a tour and meeting the team.

Talking with residents, a lot of the amenities listed in their post are no longer available. The pool is closed, washers are not working, no longer has security at night, no longer providing transportation to doctors or grocery stores. Excessive pigeon dropping not cleaned up, meals not geared to dietary needs. Office staff are not responsive to resident needs and questions. Scheduled monthly meeting are cancelled, resident understands that the property is being sold again.
On the outside, the package looks nice, but once you open it, it leaves a lot to be desired.
