Receptionist was friendly and helpful the facility was clean seemed organized didnt have that chemical smell of pinesol or bleach. But my family member informed me that they were not being listen too on what they were trying to explain and that they would be right back and no one came back then I here they were being a bit hostile saying that services were refused which wasn't the case at all hopefully the doctor will follow up when doing the rounds our family member is in extreme pain and doesn't need any further aggravation to endure. I feel do to age they were not being sensitive to the needs hopefully this matter will be looked into

I had my mom for about 4 years. And my experience with them was good. Everybody knows my mom, and she has a nickname " mama coco" everybody very respectful and professional care. Now my brother is there for rehab. Being in Profesional care is important but the family been present make the diference...so not just take your loves ones there, be Involve, be present. They need profecional care, and we as family some time off for that big responsibility. Thank you crew for all the support and friendship I received with my mom, and now with my brother...

Some people usually ask would you take your parent where you work. I'd say Yes! Yes! Yes!. The staff especially the ones who provide direct care are awesome. They know their patients well. Medication Nurses. May, Ramon, and Mildred, Maria have been in the facility for years and really care abt their patients. The food is great specially when herbed chicken and beef stroganoff is served. 😋 Rooms are adequate. Its not hotel accomodation. But enough for our needs to heal an recover. Rehab department. They are the best. Led by Michelle the DOR. Were able to answer our questions and got my dad back on his feet. Administration is approchable and listens to concerns. Xavier administrator and Norma asst Administrator acts on all concrrns in timely manner. If my mom needs to be admitted wil i send her here? My answ3r will be a resounding YES!

My loved one stayed here and it was a negative experience. The communication, attentiveness, and overall level of care were far below what Is expected for a patient. Always understaffed, poorly managed, it was common to have patients calling out for help, their help buttons pushed, lighting up at the nursing station along with beeping alarms and no urgency in response time Throughout his stay, I had to schedule repeated meetings, make frequent phone calls, & send many emails because of ongoing issues. There were multiple hospitalizations as well. One significant incident, he was given solid food when he was supposed to be on pureed food only. He ended up choking & having a seizure that they timed at 7 minutes. He had to be hospitalized for several weeks because of this. On several ER visits, Dr’s told me that he arrived in a dirty and uncared for way which concerned them There were also occasions when he appeared heavily sedated despite my requests that sedation be avoided. What transpired this last month has me angry beyond belief and has me concerned for the other patients. It started when he was once again hospitalized, this time for pneumonia. The hospital said he arrived in critical condition and was immediately taken to the ICU. He ended up being in there for over a month as the Dr’s worked hard to save his life and get him well again. When he was released, I begged the Rehabilitation Center to take care of him properly, to not let him get pneumonia again and to check on him regularly. This of course didn’t happen. He was put in the back of a 3 person room and curtains closed. Nurses walking by wouldn’t even see him when he needed help. He has use of one arm and his table with his needed items (water, the “I need help button”, his food when brought to him), was all placed on the opposite side where he couldn’t reach them. I asked to have it moved. I waited and waited for someone to come move until visiting hours ended. Before I left I reminded them that it still needed to be done. The next day i go to find the same thing. Curtains closed, table not moved. I could not rearrange the bed and equipment myself to get the table on his correct side so I asked again, I waited and waited. After over an hour i asked again for help and again i waited and waited. Finally, I called a friend who had to come help me move it. I went every day and every day I had to remind them of the Dr's orders which were to make sure he was given oxygen and breathing treatments. I wrote to administration and expressed my concerns. No action was taken. I wrote them again and also told them that his cough was coming back and he needed his breathing treatments. no action was taken. 6 weeks later he was again rushed to the hospital at the last minute. Except this time he couldn’t be saved. It was too late and he passed away at the hospital. When I informed the facility that he had passed away and why he passed away. I was told I “could have hired someone to watch over him.” Basically saying, -yes we know we don’t do a good job, and nothing is going to change with that, so if you want your loved one to live you should’ve hired someone from outside the facility. This is a man who loved life, he fought to live after his double stroke even when it was thought he wouldn’t make it. He did make it, despite the lack of care and neglect and he had a smile for me every single day. I know he would still be here if not for the administration’s refusal to care. Xavier Esquivel, Administrator and CEO, is the one in charge and the one I hold responsible. Looking back, I wish I had researched more thoroughly. I later found information that if I had known, I would have never stepped foot in this place. If you are thinking of bringing a loved one here, I would strongly suggest you do a thorough research because they are red flagged. I recommend that you dont even consider this place at all

I cannot say enough good things about The Rehabilitation Center of North Hills. From the moment we walk through the doors, we are met with warmth, and professionalism. The staff go above and beyond to ensure each resident is treated with dignity and compassion. The facility itself is clean, well-maintained, and has a welcoming atmosphere that feels more like a community than a clinical setting. Therapy services are excellent, I noticed real progress in mobility and strength. The activities staff provides engaging and fun options that help residents stay active and social. I highly recommend this facility for your loved ones.
