If I could give 6 stars I would.

My family has quite a history at this incredible assisted living facility. My mother lived there from around 04 to 09 back when it was still called Westwood Plaza, and more recently my father lived there.

When we were talking to the staff regarding my father's intake I was pleasantly surprised to find that many of the same employees still worked there and they ALL remembered my mother. This was a huge green flag for me because there can often be big employee turnover in facilities like this.

The new(ish) director, Luz, is so unbelievable kind and accommodating. I told her about my mother living there previously and she was delighted that our family was returning for care. She helped us with all of the appropriate paperwork to get my father admitted.

The facility is really well kept. There is a lovely outdoor space adjacent to the dining room. There is a lovely little activities room and library. There is also regularly scheduled activities including games, walks around the neighborhood, and outings to restaurants and movies.

On several days a week they provide transportation for the residents to medical appointments. There is also an on site beauty salon that offers haircuts and nails.

The care staff is kind and gentle. Many facilities like this can often feed rushed, like the staff is just going from one resident to the next, but everyone knew my father by name and was patient and kind with him.

A few months after my father was admitted he had a heart attack and spent a month in the hospital and acute rehab. I wanted to THANK Plaza Westwood and their director Luz Rose for helping make my Mother's life so much better than it was. While it's often difficult for people moving into Assisted Living, after going to over 26 different LA places assessing them for my mother, we settled on Plaza Westwood. While I guess no place is perfect, I will say this - We were able to have my mother decorate the way she wanted in a really nice and bright room, where she's settled in and is happier than where she was. The food has been good and better than most places, she says. Also, the staff are SUPER NICE and we love Luz! She's made our lives so much easier and runs a really good place. I think perhaps different people have different expectations and it's not meant to be a 5-star hotel, no place is that's affordable when on a low fixed income. So all that said - we're SO HAPPY we found Plaza West and highly recommend it!

Although my cousin has only been at the facility about 19 days, it's quite apparent the care he receives there is very good. To date, he has had nothing but praise for administrator Luz Rose and her staff; and the care I have witnessed has been excellent as they have done a very good job of ensuring that his daily needs are met in a humane, caring and efficient manner. The level of care he has received far exceeds the care provided by the previous assisted living facility he resided in. The professionalism, responsiveness, attention to his daily needs, and above all, the humanity Ms. Rose and her staff has shown him, has been in a word, exemplary.
