My Sister has been in the Pines Nursing Home for rehab after a hip fracture and repair... He rehab was excellent... However, there was never a comfortable chair for her to sit in. They told me the room was "too small for a chair"... So she was in bed most of the time o/t when she was walking in the halls! I called and talked with the Supervisor about the fact that she didn't have a comfortable chair in her room. She said she would put on the the hall for her to sit in!!! It was not a comfortable chair even for her room! And the next time I visited, there was no chair in her room!!! Further more she contacted Covid and she became nauseous and couldn't eat or drink much... I went to see her and her lunch was on the tray, untouched...No one ever came to help her with her food... She was dehydrated and weak and unable to stand alone for feed herself... they finally sent her to the Hospital because of her weakened condition! I was on the list to be told of her condition ! When I asked is she was still taking rx for Covid, the Nurse told me "you are not on the list; you were but not now" she couldn't tell me anything. I believer they had no right to take me off the list, only the family can do that. They neglected her care and I want the state of NY to know this..... I am a retired RN and would not recommend anyone I know to put their family in the Pines!
