Residents are left in urine for long periods, which is inhumane and violates basic care standards and dignity. The facility also faces a persistent gnat infestation throughout the building, affecting resident rooms and food. Gnats have been seen in food, raising serious sanitation and health issues. 4/8/2026

My family member stayed at the Palms for a five day rest fit, and he was in the same clothes for the first three days never changed. They lost his personal items, specifically, his blanket and never found it tried giving me someone else’s blanket. They have a bunch of little bugs all in the restroom in room. The food quality is a very poor standards. I can appreciate the effort, but the meals are very sad, depressing, And distasteful. The staff was nice to me, but my family member said that the nurses were not kind to my family member.

My recent tour of The Palms was a very positive experience. The Admissions Director was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I noted that the residents seemed happy and engaged. Based on this visit, I would strongly recommend this facility to others.

I am at this moment eating at the facility with my mom! The food is absolutely delicious! Honesty, there is no other place I would rather eat at this moment than in this place! Coastal Palms has the best food in Portland Texas and the best kitchen staff ever!
