About The Lodge at Natchez Trace

Professional Care You Can Trust

We Provide Care

When you choose the Lodge as your home, we not only aspire to know our residents and exceed their expectations, but we welcome each into our extended family. Perhaps the greatest testament to this is how many of our staff members have had, and still have, their own family members living here.

In our small and intimate community, friends and other visitors are welcome to stop by and see their loved ones whenever they like. In addition to our open door policy, we schedule quarterly meetings with families to update and reassess the resident’s needs and care plans.

With high ceilings, chandeliers, and a country interior flushed with warm light, the Lodge is a beautiful place both inside and out. A place where families come together and where meaningful friendships are made these are just some reasons why our residents love to call the Lodge home.

Meet Professional Care You Can Trust

Located just outside of Nashville, our community is surrounded by a convenient variety of nearby restaurants, shopping centers, and some of the area’s the best physicians and specialists. And yet, our gorgeous Lodge is tucked back at the end of our long drive for resident privacy and security.

At Natchez Trace, we offer two separate living options to accommodate those with memory care needs or individuals who require minimal assistance with their everyday life tasks. Regardless of which living option is right for you, every senior has 24/7 access to our highly-skilled and delightful nursing staff. With fewer residents than most eldercare facilities, keeping a small and intimate community allows our staff to give each senior the undivided and selfless attention they deserve.

Respite Care

Here at The Lodge, we understand that caring for a loved one can be excruciatingly exhausting and frustrating when you have to do it all alone.

Our respite care services are designed to give primary care-givers a break by providing planned or emergency care for individuals in need. Our services are used for temporary situations and our duties include helping individuals with day-to-day activities and needs.

Our respite care services can be provided in-home, at a facility, or at a day center. We provide many options to allow flexibility with you and your schedule.

Our services are charged hourly/per day and are/are not covered by most insurance. To talk about the needs of your loved one and whether respite care is the best option for you, call (615) 257-7750 to talk to a staff member and learn more about the services offered.

Memory Care

At Natchez Trace, the Lodge Country House is a unique and secure neighborhood designed just for patients with memory loss associated with Alzheimer's Disease and other dementias. We keep a small, tightly-knit team of memory care staff and nurses to ensure residents receive care from familiar and friendly faces each and every day.

In order to thrive and live their best lives, individuals with memory loss require a level of stability that only a dependable and unwavering schedule can offer. From Monday through Sunday/seven days a week, our committed staff follows a specialized consistency program exactly as it was developed by the memory care experts. Country House residents also enjoy weekly music therapy, a time when they are able to connect with themselves and their peers through instrument play, therapeutic singing, improvised songwriting, guided movement to music, and much more.

Personalized Memory Care Plans

Every Country House resident begins his or her unique journey with family at their side. Our knowledgeable and delightful Marketing Director, Kelly Porter, gets to know the needs of future residents and provides families with valuable information and resources as they decide if The Lodge is where they would like to be. Once a decision is made, our Director of Nursing performs an assessment to determine each new patient’s care plan and the level of support it includes. A follow-up is conducted 30 days after move in and unless a change in health calls for care adjustments sooner, regular assessments are continually conducted every 3 months after that.

Stimulating Sensory Activities

By stimulating the amygdala through each of the five senses, the brain essentially exercises its own neural pathways and overall capacity for memory retrieval. We offer Country House residents a wide variety of effective Sensory Programs such as individual and group activities, (group) music therapy, baking bread and making cookies, aromatherapy, pet therapy, and hand massages. And to create the kind of positive emotional experiences patients need for healthy responses to novel stimuli in the future, we regularly take fun, stress-free field trips into the outside community.

Maintaining life skills

One of the most frustrating realities for seniors with memory loss is struggling with the very same everyday tasks they had performed their entire lives without a second thought. To reduce agitation and raise self-confidence, our compassionate memory care experts have developed a special series of Life Skills Programs that include various housekeeping chores such as cooking, laundry, sewing, and setting the table. And for the nature lover, we offer gardening responsibilities such as watering plants, arranging flowers, snapping peas, and shucking corn.

The Bridge Program

Committed to upholding each individual’s dignity and to always be an advocate for their rights, we guarantee your family member’s safety 24 hours a day.

This unit offers independence during the day and security at night. The Bridge is for memory care residents that are high functioning, but may need extra security at night due to confusion. Doors on the unit open at 7:00 AM and close at 7:00 PM and are staffed for the evening. During the day these residents have the option to participate in all the normal Assisted Living programming and dining.

We moved my MIL in The Lodge at Natchez Trace in October 2024 after a stint in the hospital and rehab. Previously she was living alone. She asks us why we choose The Lodge at Natchez Trace and we tell here that we just knew. When you walk in it has a welcoming and cozy feel. The staff is really nice. They want to be there. You get to know the nurses, CNAs and the receptionists really well. You can check on your family member by talking to one of the receptionists, your family member's nurse or CNA. In fact they have become like our second family. On Christmas we took my MIL out to MY Mother's for Christmas dinner. Karen, one of the receptionists told me that my MIL wasn't acting right. Before we left I told MIL's nurse to please check for a UTI. My MIL has a history of getting them. When we brought her back I gave them an update on how she was behaving with us. They monitored her and checked for UTI. Sure enough she had one. We got it early so that we didn't have to take her to the hospital. They do have activities for the residents. My MIL loves playing bingo, going to the Bible studies and they even have churches come in. They always have a worship service on Sunday mornings right before lunch. They also take them on different outings. They will even take your loved one to doctors appointments if you can't. The staff at The Lodge want the family involved in their loved one's life and they want to a part of your loved one's life too. My MIL likes it. My husband and I love it!!

We recently moved my mom to The Lodge from another near by community. I was worried about moving Mom, but she has settled in so well and everyone - both staff and residents - have been so welcoming to us, making us feel right at home. Mom loves her studio apartment. It's so cozy and inviting, and she loves the food there! Also, we've been pleased with the care and therapy services mom has received. We love the smaller size of the community. I did alot of research and tours of other communities, and we landed in the right place for our needs. We are very happy at The Lodge!
