⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐<br><br>I recently toured The Lantern at Morning Pointe while looking for the right place for my mom, who has Alzheimer’s, and I walked away feeling incredibly impressed and, most importantly, comforted.<br><br>From the moment I walked through the doors, I felt welcomed. The staff was warm, patient, and genuinely compassionate. They took the time to show me around, answer my questions, explain the care and services they provide, and never made me feel rushed or pressured.<br><br>As a daughter, choosing a place for your mom is an emotional decision. You aren’t simply looking at rooms, activities, and amenities—you are looking at the people and asking yourself, “Can I trust you with my mom?” During my tour, I paid attention to the little things: how the staff interacted with the residents, how the residents were treated, the atmosphere, cleanliness, safety, and whether the environment truly felt like a place where my mom could be comfortable.<br><br>The Lantern made a beautiful first impression on me. It felt peaceful, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed for individuals living with Alzheimer’s and dementia.I especially appreciated seeing the care and respect shown to the residents. It did not feel cold or institutional—it felt warm and inviting.<br><br>One of my favorite parts of the tour was the beautiful garden. 🌷 It was such a peaceful, calming space and immediately caught my attention. I could picture my mom sitting outside, enjoying the fresh air, sunshine, flowers, and the simple beauty of being surrounded by nature. Having a safe and beautiful outdoor space like that means so much, especially for someone living with Alzheimer’s. It was one of those special touches that made The Lantern feel less like a facility and more like a home.<br><br>This is not an easy chapter for any family, and finding the right memory care community can feel overwhelming. My tour of The Lantern gave me something I desperately needed during this process: a sense of peace and hope that there are people who understand what families like ours are going through.<br><br>Thank you to everyone who made our tour such a positive and reassuring experience. ❤️ When it comes to my mom, I want nothing but the very best, and The Lantern at Morning Pointe certainly left a wonderful impression on me.

The executive director that has been there several months is fantastic and the place is getting better and better with her leadership! The staff she has hired and trained seem happier than the previous staff under different leadership! Tim, who runs food services, has been the constant face there when there was turnover. He cares about the residents and it shows! He and his staff provide good food and are incredibly kind with the residents, too. My mom has been there 15 months and she seems happy. The leadership in place is creating a more positive environment.

Our family had a deeply disappointing and distressing experience with The Lantern at Morning Pointe of Franklin. If I could give them zero stars I would given the mismanagement of meds and constructed discharge that occurred.<br><br>My father has dementia, and we trusted this facility to safely manage his memory care, medications, communication, and care planning. Unfortunately, our experience raised serious concerns in all of those areas.<br><br>His intake paperwork documented that he should not receive a specific medication because it causes increased agitation. We later learned that he was given the generic version of that medication for a total of 5 weeks while at Morning Pointe. We trusted the facility, pharmacy, and care team to recognize and manage this safely. This caused behaviors, and ultimately my father was transferred to Vanderbilt geriatric psychiatry. Our family wasd never told of any behaviors leading up to to his sudden move out of the facility to the hospital for med realignment.<br><br>We were involved family members who visited regularly, yet there was zero care planning with our family leading up to his departure from their facility. After Vanderbilt stabilized his medications and cleared him to return to memory care, Morning Pointe required a 24/7 private-duty sitter at $32–$35 per hour with no clear criteria, timeline, review process, or end point. In our view, this made his return practically impossible, forcing our family to make other arrangements under stress.<br><br>We have submitted our concerns to the appropriate state channels for review because we do not want another resident or family to go through what we experienced.<br><br>Based on our family’s experience, I would not recommend this facility for a loved one with dementia who needs careful medication management, proactive communication, and a clear care plan. Their facility like many has a very high turnover which may have played a part. Leadership failed our father.
