We initially chose this nursing home for my grandmother’s short-term rehabilitation, but her experience was so positive that we made the decision to keep her there long term and this is not a decision we made lightly. From the very beginning, the staff has been incredibly caring, attentive, and compassionate. They treat my grandmother with genuine kindness and respect, and it’s clear they truly care about the well-being of their residents. She is not only well taken care of, but she’s also genuinely happy, which means everything to our family. King’s itself is welcoming and comfortable, and the level of communication from the staff has been excellent. We always feel informed and reassured about her care. It gives us great peace of mind knowing she is in such good hands. We are truly grateful for the wonderful environment they’ve created and would highly recommend this nursing home to anyone looking for quality care for a loved one.

This facility is truly exceptional! My grandpa, Pepaw, has stayed here twice now following two separate falls—first for just a few weeks, and more recently for a little over two months. Each time, the level of care he received was outstanding. The nursing staff is truly the best around—compassionate, attentive, and incredibly patient. They responded quickly whenever the call button was pressed and consistently went above and beyond to make sure Pepaw was comfortable and cared for. Their kindness and dedication made all the difference, and I am forever grateful for everything they did for him. The facility itself is warm and welcoming, with engaging daily activities and beautiful outdoor gazebos where residents can relax and enjoy the fresh air. It’s never easy to leave a loved one in someone else’s care, but I slept soundly every night knowing Pepaw was in such capable and loving hands. I’m so thankful that a place like this exists. It gave our family peace of mind during a difficult time, and I would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for either short-term rehabilitation or long-term care. They treat their residents with true dignity and respect, and I’ll always be grateful for the care they gave Pepaw.

My mother was sent herr for rehab after a fall.when she got here she was able to speak feed herself go to the bathroom etc. Five weeks later and she is fighting for her life at baptist she is basically catatonic... my mother was out of it over the weekend i asked them what was going on all i was told was she is just tired. Her eyes were crusted together i spoke with the nurse on duty she said i will give the order to the dr. Monday went the dr came in he had no idea about the order. I started to go home and i turned around and demanded they transfer her to the hospital. Come to find out she has covid 85 yrs old and now has a brain infection from the covid.I went and cleaned out her room and director came to talk to me and actually had the nerve to say no one at her facility has covid!! And she said although they noticed a decline they didnt feel it was anything to worry about. My mother is currently at the hopital fighting for her life. This facility be careful they talk a great game .. I would not reccomend this facility to anyone at all unless you are prepared to bury your loved one!! As my mother lays here dying no compassion the only thing they are worried about is covering there own ass.Do Not bring your loved one here to this facility! The director had such a nasty attitude with me she kept saying we are not short staffed and no one here has covid!!! This place does not care about your loved ones and they will let them suffer unless yoi make the move and have them removed!!

I will NOT recommend this place -- I believe my husband was admitted on or around April this year...it has been a while but I feel I need to share our experience. Baptist Hospital suggested my husband be transferred to a facility for physical therapy. We chose The King's Daughters & Sons on Appling because of their location close to home. The check-in process was efficient, I stayed with my husband from 6am to 11pm every day and worked from his room. The staff at night (the 11pm shift) was loud and you could hear their conversations and laughter echoing in the hallways. This was disruptive to the patients trying to sleep - I politely asked them to lower their voices. The resident directly across from my husband's room was hard of hearing and her TV was so loud that even with the door closed we could hear the program she was watching - this was awful. Again, I asked the staff to ask the resident to lower the volume of her tv and/or close her door. The volume was turned down. What I was not aware of is that when you are admitted to such facility your doctors have "no saying" and the patient has to follow what the facility's doctor recommends. This just did not work for me as my husband had several health issues and is sensitive to certain medications, especially antibiotics and I closely monitor everything he takes. This is where I clashed with the Head Nurse -- she had an attitude and did not like me monitoring the administration of medication. The argument was such that I was told "if you don't like it, you will have to leave". I called the following morning to check-out and removed my husband from the facility. My husband stayed there 3 days (too long). The other employees had also attitudes, very few of them were genuine and caring. Never again!

The King’s Daughters and Sons Home, in my experience, is the best facility of its kind. The care my mother received during an extremely difficult time was first class. My mother was there on two different occasions and the staff kept us up to date on her condition and listened to our feedback. The staff who work there are special and doing the most important jobs of taking care of our loved ones in need. Several of them even went to visit her at the assisted living facility when she transferred there for a short time. Our community is most fortunate to have such a special facility!
