The Kensington is a wonderful facility with a truly caring and compassionate staff. Everyone is incredibly kind, attentive, and goes above and beyond to make residents and their families feel comfortable and supported. So grateful for the level of care and attention they provide and would highly recommend The Kensington to anyone looking for a warm and trustworthy place for their loved one.

I was so terrified to take my uncle out of his home at the age of 97 and put him in any facility. I had many concerns and spent time crying over it. While I had liked what I saw on a visit, it seemed that there were so many things that could go wrong. Yet at home he wasn't doing as well. We weren't able to keep him comfortable and he was so weak I would have needed a second caregiver 24/7 to manage all his needs. While the initial transition was a little bumpy, they figured out his medication so he was quickly much more comfortable and over time his comfort increased as they got to know him better.

He has had trouble digesting restaurant food so we had to watch his food carefully at home. I feared he would be in digestive agony most of the time, but Joe Sasso made note of his special needs and his digestion actually improved there.

They are also aware of more green cleaning practices and this is the only facility I've visited that didn't make me feel sick from toxic cleaning products and air fresheners. Celso Cedeno is very knowledgeable about being able to keep the facility perfectly clean without using these terrible products.

Everyone was so professional and when I did complain about something they responded respectfully and quickly. Special thanks to JoAnn Hubbard for helping us figure out some of the toughest problems and Denice Tomlinson for helping me navigate many challenges while being incredibly supportive and kind. I also appreciate Zen, the other nurses and caregivers who did an off the charts good job. We did hire their caregivers for overnight care but most residents didn't need that. All were wonderful but a special shout out to Michelle in particular.

My uncle was there a year and the last few months were especially peaceful. He died peacefully in his sleep.

As with any facility, problems will come up that can be difficult at times, but overall I am so grateful that I know I did my best for him having him there.

Our father has been with the Kensington for four years and it had been a special experience. It is a lovely facility convenient to where he lived many years, and the familiarly has been powerful. As with any assisted living, there is a mix of capability among the guests and throughout Kensington has been attentive as his memory declines to meet him with people at his level, get to PT regularly and engage him with activities that he enjoys and keeps him alert.

There is a deep kindness to the place in near every encounter from the very top, and the wonderful staff. They not only know dad, but “see” him on his terms - ensuring efforts and programs to his particular interests. He is greeted by name and warmly throughout.

This experience is a team experience and my sister and I are captains of team dad and Kensington is utterly on his and our side - communicative, open, candid and respectful and encouraging - but ensure also that we hear the realities that sometimes it is hard for families to hear. Always with courtesy and kindness and, again, in the interests of dad.
