I am regularly visiting a friend here. I would only recommend this place if you have no other options at all. I’ve witnessed many staff lacking empathy. I’m not sure of what my friend tells me at times so I’m not going to report the negative experiences he had reported. He is not at all mobile. He can’t get out of bed. His remote control for his TV often doesn’t work. When I first reported it, it was over a month before it worked. When it went out again on a recent Sunday, the front nursing station personnel said it was dead batteries and my friend would need to wait for maintenance on Monday. Hard to believe that there weren’t a few batteries around. I took some batteries over when my friend called me. Remote still doesn’t work. A nurse who said she works weekends said it had never worked with the remote, that it had to be turned on and channel changed manually with the controls on the tv. She did that. Remote with brand new batteries that I installed still did not work Several Of the regular weekday nurses are less than empathetic. My friend says a couple of them have been outright mean. I’ve seen no evidence of meanness but heard some once when I was on the phone with him and a nurse came in. Though some things about this place are average and above, lots of them are so far below average that I shudder when I think about my friend being there. I hope it improves.

If you care about your loved ones please do not send them here. I don't where they get they their staff from, but they are not professional at all. The CNA's, Nurses and the staff simply do not care at all. I come from line of nurses in my family and have been to plenty of facilities such as this one and none of them are like this. Whoever answers the phones there is so rude. The staff treats my sister and everyone else like gum stuck on the bottom of their shoe. There is absolutely nothing good to say about this place. If I had the means my sister would be moved from there immediately! 100 do NOT RECOMMEND!!

I did a tour at Highlands on yesterday. I was surprised at how nice this place is! Definitely did not disappoint. I was able to see their therapy gym, dining services, and was able to inspect a open room. The staff were knowledge and made me feel like I was having an educated decision about my dad moving in or not for his short term rehabilitation.

I was at Highlands Guest Care for 6 weeks due to an injured knee cap. I was in a wheelchair and they kindly helped me to get in and out of bed, use the bathroom and shower. They allowed guests to visit and they let me use their phone when mine was dead. If you need 24/7 assistance on short notice, this is a place where staff will assist you quickly..
