We’ve had a really good experience with Memory Care at The Goldton. Being close to the VA is a big plus for us. The staff has really gotten to know my dad and his personality, and he especially likes Tre. Dad is always hungry, so the food is important to him and he definitely enjoys the meals! He also loves being able to go outside and sit in the shade for a while. Communication has been good, and most importantly, Dad seems comfortable and happy there.

The Goldton was a mix of kindness, confusion and negligent disregard for our mother.<br><br>An error precipitating mom’s last day at The Goldton was serious enough to file a report to AHCA. I went to visit mom arriving at 10AM and couldn’t find her. The aids in memory care said, “They took her this morning. Didn’t they call you?” No one called me. She was found on her on the floor in pain and taken by ambulance.<br><br>“Where did they take her?” The designated hospital for mom was St. Anthony’s in St. Petersburg yet no one at The Goldton could tell me if she was taken there. After asking all available staff where she was taken, no one had a clue. One aide acknowledged our preferred hospital on file was St. Anthony’s. Mom was not there. Since The Goldton took no initiative to find her, we had to call around and found her at the hospital we wanted to avoid.<br><br>We were reporting the even to ACHA but The Goldton Directors told us they had to report it and would keep up advised.<br>We never heard a word from either the director or wellness director on the ACHA report, each of whom had promised to update us.<br><br>After losing mom and making no attempt to locate her, they had the audacity to insist they required a 30 day notice in order for her complete her billing obligation.<br><br>EDIT: The Goldton's response and directive to contact someone is far too late. You could have taken this seriously when we told you about the problems.

The activities are engaging, the food is wonderful, and the overall environment has greatly improved my mother's quality of life. We are incredibly grateful to the entire team for everything they do. I highly recommend them to any family seeking a supportive and loving environment for their loved one.

Thank you for the 5 years of wonderful care you’ve given my sister, with kindness and compassion . It’s always a pleasure to visit, staff is warm and welcoming. I definitely recommend The Goldton.
