Respite Care

Temporary care is available to provide relief and assistance for regular caregivers or those in transitional situations. Families are afforded the peace of mind knowing that their loved ones are receiving supervision, socialization, wellness, and nutrition. Most commonly, short-term care is used for the following reasons:

Respite/Hospital Discharge

Respite is a term to describe a short stay for seniors who have been discharged from a hospital or other medical facility but are not physically prepared to return home. We treat short-term visitors with the same warmth and respect as our long-term residents. In fact, we find that our residents welcome new guests with open arms and inclusiveness. There's a sense of camaraderie in the air when someone stays with us short-term because our residents understand the need to be surrounded by optimistic friends, especially during times of healing and recovery.

Vacation/Trial Stay

Before transitioning into a community, seniors have a chance to meet staff and other residents through a vacation or trial stay. They can experience activities and the dining program before deciding to move into a community. The program is intended to lessen the fear or anxiety usually associated with moving and changing residences. We welcome you and your family to visit us for a free tour and see if you'd like to sample the lifestyle.

I’ve been going to the Clairmont for probably eight years now. I love how engaged the residents are and how they have the big cornhole tournament with The Continental Retirement. They’re outdoor space is sprawling and bright. Many of the residents have dogs who light up the room. If you’re looking for a reasonably priced independent living community, swing by and say hello to Francine for me. She and David are a pleasure to work with.

I hate giving a five star review because I don't read five star reviews anymore as they are usually untrustworthy, if not outright lies, however, I'm making an exception here. I cannot imagine a better facility within my price range!!

First of all I'd like to say that the Clairmont is doing a pretty good job but could do better. I have had trouble with the billing department getting back to me. There was a problem with the facility apartment insurance request. I paid and submitted the forms about a month prior to move-in and the first bill over 6 weeks later included a fee for not having insurance. I tried contacting the billing office and requested a call back to get things clarified. This did not happen and the problem was not fixed. I again went to Francine who has been my anchor at the Clairmont to get problems fixed. I finally received approval of the policy on October 17th but I had submitted the information in early August! In addition the bill itself was incorrect. The dinning room food has improved, per my father, but the utensils are still awful! I do wish your administrative staff would try using the forks at the facility and imagine that they have arthritis in their hands as these residents frequently do. My dad does better with most plastic forks than the forks supplied at the Clairmont. Please, this should be an easy upgrade. One thing we really appreciate is the ability to have a pet and to have a fenced "yard" area outside of their apartment. I think this adds a homey feel for many of the residents. Better water access would be a plus for those with outside plants. You have outside waste bins for doggy waste but no plastic bags at the one outside of the building for the last 6 weeks. Your showers do not have safety bars inside of the shower, Since most of the residents at this facility use walkers, canes or wheelchairs, why do you think it unnecessary to have a safety bar inside of the shower? This would be a considerate and wise upgrade for the apartments. Overall, we (the family) really like this facility and the people who live and work there. My Dad is still adjusting......

While staff and residents are pretty awesome, the subcontractors for work on the apartment have been pretty awful. The shower redo was not properly done with exposed ceramic surfaces instead of using Schluter trim or bullnose tiles. In the process of either the tile work or the repainting, the floor was heavily scratched. It is not a good look and we do not want rugs in the room due to mobility issues. The Spectrum system is not hooked up properly so does not work for the TV. The air conditioner is making a very loud and obnoxious noise after servicemen worked on something with the system. It did not make this noise when we checked out the apartment. The painters did not use drop cloths apparently as paint spatters were all over the floor. Fortunately the spots would pry off fairly easily. The dining room did not have clean utensils for the second setting of lunch. The utensils they did supply were about the cheapest , thin, and hard to use I have ever seen. So we sat and looked at our salads for about 8 mins until new utensils could be found. All in all a sub-par start.

My mother just moved in and has been very happy with Francine and the team. Everyone is so warm and welcoming. She is excited about the opportunity to make some new friends and have some activities to join in on. The food is very tasty and we have enjoyed each time we’ve eaten there. There are a number of enclosed courtyards as well as nice walking access around the property. I’m very happy for my mother and it gives me peace of mind to know she’s in a good community.
