Just commenting that apparently no alcohol consumption is permitted in the dining room or anywhere on the premises other than indoors in your own apartment. We enjoy a beer or glass of wine with dinner, most days in my husband's case, 2-3x a week in mine. Prefer being able to purchase it there but would be ok with carrying it into the dining room or outdoor patio dining area, and would want to invite guests occasionally who also imbibe very moderately. Total restriction of alcohol seems to be an outdated, Southern Baptist practice unknown to any other senior communities we've looked into. We wonder if it's reflective of a general judgemental and religious focus, also, in which case tolerant individuals who're accepting of others of all religions or even none, might not fit in.

Almost a year after losing my grandpa I have waited to make this post. If your family is on hospice don’t place them at this facility. They do not let outside hospice give medications. I arrived about a hour before my grandpa passed with the hospice nurse telling us she asked multiple times for his medication to be administered. When I asked the staff nurses about my grandpas care she was awful to me. Condescending. He died I my arms not long after, hyperventilating. Terrible experience.

One of the big life decisions a person faces is finding the right place for a loved one when he/ she can no longer live independently. We arrived at that decision point for my Mom a couple of years ago. We spent quite a bit of time visiting locations and drawing upon family and friends in the medical profession to identify the best location for our Mom. Mom started within the rehab facility at Grace and ended up going to assisted living. What makes this place stand out in comparison to other locations is the staff. And when I say staff, I mean staff at every level (nurses, aides, maintenance, administration, housekeeping, dining, etc.). My Mom has been treated with caring and compassion by the medical staff. I worked with admissions and was touched and thrilled with their flexibility and willingness to help find Mom a permanent home in their garden apartments and make personal accommodations for her. Their rehab area is new and attractive, But again what matters is the therapists and Mason Christian Village did not let us down in their staff. Since these are NOT contract positions and are employees, Mom received the same therapist with each session. With the continuity and staff expertise she thrived. She has also formed special relationships and friendships with some of the auxiliary staff. With the varied social activities Mom has formed a network of friends. There is no better feeling than when I call to visit her and discover she already has plans. I have made many mistakes in my life, but choosing Mason Christian Village is one of the best decisions I have ever made. Mom and I often talk about how fortunate she is to live at Mason Christian Village. There are so many times different staff members have gone beyond the call of duty in big and small ways. I am so glad my Mom is a part of the Mason Christian Village community. A big thanks to them and ALL of their staff.

Mason Christian Village went above and beyond our expectations in creating a warm and welcoming place for my mother. The staff was always ready to help with whatever she needed and the caring spirit was a comfort to my family, knowing that she was being provided for. The facilities are well maintained, comfortable, clean and beautifully decorated. We are so thankful for MCV and what they did for our family.
