It looks good on the outside, but it's not where I'd have my loved one live anymore. What I'm writing here is based on personal experience and we're attempting to express that as objectively as possible. Just the facts of our experience. We experienced it to be understaffed and disorganized. Night and day and weekend staff all had disconnects with one another, so the individual needs of our loved one weren't met on several occassions. For us, that made making sure that our loved one was properly receiving their meds a problem. For us, there was a strong emphasis to up the tier of care that our loved one received. Each tier is more expensive than the last. In our case, the company claimed to provide care that our loved one wasn't actually receiving. Our family felt that family must keep a close watch on their loved ones who are living at the facility to ensure proper care. In our experience, the facility would be fine for independent living, but when the tenant needs more care, then the needs of the resident may not be met.<br>Update: There's no place to respond to the company response, so I'm editing my review to address their comment. My review wasn't removed by Google. I changed my posting name and when I did that my review was replaced using the new name. I didn't know that would happen. I haven't been contacted by Google about this review. If I am, I'll do as I'm told by Google. However, my review is wholly truthful and I stand by what I wrote. Our loved one's experiences at the Blake were not great. All people have, besides the company's promotions, are the reviews to help determine whether or not to do business here. People need to know both sides.

My husband's grandparents have lived at The Blake at New Braunfels for over 1.5 years, and I love visiting them there! The facility is beautiful (clean, professionally designed, bright and welcoming), the staff is friendly and helpful, and they always host fun activities and crafts. It makes me happy knowing that they have so much support and resources available.

From the greeting at the door, we knew this was the place. In our initial meeting/tour with Carrie Anne, we were asked two questions: 'what would you like to see in this tour for your loved one' and 'what would you like to see for yourself'. The first question was to be expected and the answer so very clear. My response to the second question was that I wanted to see interaction. Interaction amongst the caregivers with the residents as well as interaction amongst themselves. And wow did I see love and compassion in both! Each and every visit I am amazed by the joy that is reflected in the office staff, maintenance, nurses and dining hall staff. It is clear that they all enjoy their jobs and put their heart into what they are doing. Thank you for providing such great care to the residents and visitors at this beautiful place. This is Assisted Living at its finest as it is a true community.

Walking into this assisted living, you can see the dedication that the staff has, you see the interactions with the residents and their families and it just warms your heart. The place is beautiful, their chandeliers and there’s so much for everyone to do. Highly recommend.
