I want to express my deepest gratitude for the support I received from TEC Home Help Services while trying to care for my elderly mother, who has dementia and several other health issues. As someone living with epilepsy and a heart stent, it’s been incredibly challenging trying to manage both of our needs at home. Although caregiver services weren’t ultimately provided, the level of care, advocacy, and compassion shown to us was above and beyond. For two months, Ms. Compton worked as our appointed representative—completing paperwork, making calls, and doing everything she could to see if there were any resources through Medicaid, Medicare, or our insurance (BCBS/Medicare) that would cover in-home care for my mom and myself. Sadly, we didn’t qualify under any of the programs, but the time and effort she put in meant so much. It’s rare to find someone so dedicated, even when there’s no guarantee of compensation. She treated us with dignity and truly had our best interests at heart. Even though the outcome wasn’t what we hoped, I highly recommend TEC Home Help Services to anyone in need of advocacy or guidance when navigating the healthcare system.
