Today was a very emotional day, but the staff at Talladega Healthcare made my heartache easier. Macy L. worked tirelessly to make my husband's transition to the healthcare center a smooth one. First, she came to our house to help with the admissions process.Next, and foremost, she did not pressure me into the final decision. She supported my decision and let me talk through all of our options.I am forever grateful for her kindness in this matter since it was the hardest decision I have ever made in my life. Thirdly, she took time with my husband to talk to him and make him feel comfortable. This meant the world to me because he was not talking to me. It felt good that he had made a connection. She then found the charge nurse so we could talk about his medications. The nurse counted every pill and was precise about her notes. I was impressed that even though the building was old, it was very clean and did not smell of urine. The staff was friendly and spoke to us as we went to my husband's room. Finally, the director, Lana, was very compassionate and helped me feel more at ease. I am thankful for people who work hard and do their jobs. Thank you all for going above and beyond your duties.
