It’s taken me months to collect my thoughts enough to write them down about the facility. I will start with there are state laws to admit patients into an ASSISTED LIVING versus a NURSING HOME. My grandfather was moved here though he could NOT feed himself, toilet alone, got to where he was a MAJOR fall risk, and had many medical complications a facility of this level is NOT EQUIPPED TO TREAT/DEAL WITH BY LAW. Even still, he was admitted. Upon visiting, many family members noticed ants in the bathroom and in his food areas. The snacks were outdated, opened and not resealed, or inappropriate for his medical needs. Sodas and salty snacks he was told to avoid. We were told when we came in he had not eaten. He told us he was starving. He ate nearly an ENTIRE tray and an ensure. A “nurse” came barreling in at some point, not announcing herself, appearing disheveled. We had actually assumed she was a resident of the facility by her demeanor and appearance upon arrival so we were very concerned and asked what was going on. She became aggressively defensive and told us it was time for my grandfathers “num nums”. She explained it was pain medication but they had already asked if he was in pain and he said no. We relayed this and again, the nurse became agitated and rudely told us it was doctor orders so we could back off. Did not love that. My grandfather with dementia and no idea where he was was also placed by an exterior door though he had just walked out from ANOTHER FACILITY weeks prior. We felt like our time with my grandfather was extremely rushed by the facility. All the staff was hostile and seemed bother by any questions we had. I’m also extremely concerned with the privacy of the residents due to cameras I saw mounted UNDER FURNITURE IN PRIVATE ROOMS. I thought I was nuts hearing whirring for an hour. I bent down to pick up something I dropped and there it was. So I unplugged it. And called the police. And took LOTS of pictures. Report after report has been made but I highly doubt anything will happen. Just know my grandfather went from picking up railroad ties and digging holes with post diggers last spring to decking so rapidly he passed in February due to their negligence. If this review can stop even ONE family from considering this….place, then I’ve done my job. It makes me sick how the most vulnerable people at the end of there lives would be treated in this manor. How ashamed you should be.

This is truly a unique place. It's clean, well organized and punctual. I've been to several facilities and this one while small is definitely different. There are so many employees here that genuinely care about the residents. I can't name just one standout - they are all good!

This facility loves its veterans. They had a recent trip for Veterans day!
This is an excellent facility with excellent staff. I can't say enough about it. Not everything is perfect, but they respond quickly. I wish every senior care facility was like this one.
It may be small but they do their best to make it right!

The staff is positive and is willing to go the extra mile to help everyone. It is the tone and culture of Sycamore Trace. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to place their mom or dad or grandparent. Yes, call them. They are a lovey bunch!
