Sun City Oro Valley (SCOV) is a 55+ retirement community built by Del Webb. Now it is owned and run by the residents. Streets are handle by the City of Oro Valley. We bought our home 4 years ago after much research into retirement communities. The location is great, just north of Tucson. The amenities in SCOV are fantastic, along with the 150 clubs. The majority of the residents here are all happy and love living the life as a retiree here in Sun City. There are always a few bad apples wherever you go. There are rules here, like any other HOA, and they are very doable. They have been keeping everything consistent and in balance for 38 years. It was a great decision we made for our retirement years. It’s like being in Disney World every day!

My sister lives in Sun City and I visit regularly. I have enjoyed the Cafe, library and pool. Her home is beautiful and the view is exceptional. We were able to park our RV overnight and connect our tow vehicle before leaving. That was a major benefit for us.

Beautifully run community with exceptional office staff and management. Incredible views, convenient to nearly everything, well-kept grounds, updating facilities as need be. It is such a blessing to wake up in paradise each and every day. Can't imagine living anywhere else!

This is a perfect neighborhood for 50 and older folks. With a great view of the Catalinas that reliably turn pink as the sun sets, it has great amenities and a very friendly feel. About half the homes are owned by snowbirds, like us, who always yearn to get back each winter. The full timers take care of things when we depart. The community has a lot of pride and properties are well maintained. There is a monthly magazine published to advise of the extensive learning, social, exercise activities available.

My wife and I visited this community because we were looking for a retirement location. We were treated to an overview of the community and a very pleasant tour of its amenities via golf cart. Although this was originally a Del Webb development, it is now owned by the homeowners association and run by an elected board of directors. The facilities are beautifully maintained. The roads are maintained by the municipality, which lessens the financial burden of the homeowners. Everything looks top-notch. The people we talked to were friendly and expressed significant pride in their community. The area is beautiful, but seems to be booming with other developments and planned developments. Another thing to be aware of: it is a long drive to the airport from here. However, I felt this was a wonderful retirement spot, and we are giving it serious consideration. BTW, the houses are not sold through the HOA. You buy from the individual homeowner, usually through a real estate broker.
