At St. Louis Altenheim, Independent Living means lovely surroundings, activity-filled days, a complete list of amenities, spacious, light-filled rooms, and the comfort that comes with a full continuum of care.

Residents are provided a private bedroom and bath, three meals per day with table service in our beautiful dining room overlooking the historical bluffs, light assistance in daily living such as help with housekeeping and laundry. The extra help enables our residents to maintain an active and vibrant lifestyle.

For our residents who drive, we provide a reserved parking space for their vehicle.

Before moving to the Altenheim, our skilled and caring professionals will assess the needs of a resident to determine the appropriate level of care. Assessing the needs of a resident allows our skilled professionals to meet the individualized needs of each resident.

St. Louis Altenheim provides Supported Living for our residents who need assistance with some activities such as dressing, bathing, medication management, meals, laundry and housekeeping.  Our residents enjoy a private bedroom and bath, three delicious meals per day, personalized assistance and care.

The Altenheim offers the comfort and convenience of home in a secure setting. The variety of weekly activities will assure that each resident is provided an opportunity for socialization and fun.

The Altenheim is a truly pleasurable experience and one full of choices. These include dining with friends, family, guests or neighbors in our beautifully appointed dining room, or hosting parties for friends and family members. There are intimate dining rooms conveniently located near residents Rooms so everyone can enjoy delicious well-balanced meals.

Residents can select from a variety of healthy menus, including a featured entre, a choice of salads, or meals designed for special health needs. Holiday, theme and birthday celebrations add variety and joy to the communal spirit at the Altenheim.

Wellness programs, including exercise, music and lectures on current health topics are all part of promoting personal growth.

St. Louis Altenheim offers respite care to give older adults a special place to stay while a caregiver is away for any reason such as a holiday or business trip. This temporary stay may be just what your loved one needs if he/she wants to become more involved in social activities, keep company with others who share interests or to enjoy daily meals with friends. A change of scenery is a nice break for an older person as well as the caregiver and also provides an opportunity to try The Altenheim before making a move-in decision.

Guests can also stay at the Altenheim while recovering from an illness or surgery. Here, they are assured of a home-like atmosphere and around-the-clock care. And, when the unexpected happens, we can arrange for quick admissions as well.
