If I could leave 0 stars, I would. I do NOT recommend bringing your loved one here. My grandpa was here for 2 weeks and it was the worst. He regressed so much just in the little amount of time he was here. There are a few positive things about this place, but they definitely do not outweigh the negatives. PROS: the food was decent the physical therapy was pretty good CONS: -Medication availability - The first time he came in he was not given the right medications. It took them 4 days to figure it out and get it right. During this time, his sugar spiked very high because he was not getting his prescribed medications. He also developed pneumonia and had to go back to the hospital. He was released from the hospital on an antibiotic. When he returned to Springfield Suites/the Bridge, they did not have his medicine so they were not sure if it was given to him. They basically restarted his antibiotic and extended the duration. (He was on it for 5 days and should have only had 2 days left but had to restart and take it 5 days again). -Honesty- Like I mentioned earlier, he was admitted back to the hospital for pneumonia for 3 days. On Day 2, they called us and told us that we had to pay $350 to reserve his room for 1 day or else they were going to have to give it to someone else because they had new admissions coming in and they needed that room. According to Medicare, they are supposed to legally hold the room for 10 days. -Timing of medication- My grandpa said they would wake him up at 11 pm at night to take his nightly medications. We asked if he could be given it earlier (around dinner time) so that he could have it with food. That was not an option because of how understaffed they were. He was taking his medicine on an empty stomach and he developed Gastritis and a stomach ulcer.

Both of my parents stayed at the Bridge for rehabilitation and received excellent care and therapy. My aunt is currently here. I am very pleased to say the level of care is still very good, the nurses are professional and very kind and compassionate. The staff cares for each of their residents as their own family. The nursing staff is trained in many specialties including dressing burns, etc. If you or a loved one needs therapy or long term care I highly recommend the Bridge Care Suites.

The Bridge Care Suites has been my mother’s permanent place of residence for almost 1-1/2 yrs since St Joseph’s Home closed. She is so well cared for! The skilled nursing staff are caring, compassionate, & kind beyond words. The physical therapists are remarkable as is the entire personnel that are employed there. Cindy Schaaf is the Director & she has done a stellar job in recruiting & retaining these dedicated individuals who care for my mom, Helen, each & every day! God Bless the entire team of The Bridge Care Suites & our family thanks you for all that you do day in & day out to care for our beloved mother. We feel so very fortunate to have found The Bridge Care Suites!

Thank you to the Bridge Care Suites administrative and medical staffing for the love and care shown to our mother during her stay at your facility. During my mom’s residency, the attention to details in providing care was excellent. The facility was very clean, low positive covid cases, in which an award was received. Professional staffing was available during every shift, communications was consistent and clearly defined on care plan. Yes, the facility at times had its flaws with staffing, anytime we presented the staff or administration with a concern it was immediately addressed to satisfaction. My mother started off with apprehensions, the staff engaged in prayer, played games, shared conversations, encouraged her, and celebrated her birthday. This helped her to deal with the change in her environment. Everyone fell in love with mom and our family. She was the resident grandma, as everyone called her. Sadly, mom passed away. When her room was being cleaned out, everyone shared their heartwarming thoughts, memories, and condolences, she will be missed. Again, thank you Bridge Care Suites for being the best elderly care facility. If your family needs alternative care, our family would highly recommend Bridge Care Suites of Springfield, IL. My mom came to the Bridge after falling and suffering a break to her arm. The staff were EXCELLENT, from the minute she came through the door. The Administrator and Nursing Director are always available if you have any questions. They would stop in to ask mom how things were, and it wasn't just a pat question, they really wanted to know if there was anything they could in addition to what they were already doing for mom. While in the room, the Administrator took the time to put away mom's clothing for her! The nurses, aides, housekeeping, maintenance, therapy - everyone attended to her every need and want. Therapy IS TOP NOTCH and I was kept updated on her progress. Food was prepared for mom and she was able to converse in the beautiful dining room with the friends she met there. I am convinced had mom not been at the Bridge, she wouldn't have done as well. Mom was able to leave the Bridge once she was finished with therapy and the facility set up services for Home Health to come and ensure if she needs further services, she is able to get it. I don't know what we would have done had she not gotten into the Bridge. I would highly recommend this place to everyone!
