My aunt was there for 2 years, first as rehab, then transitioned to nursing home care. Recently she had a severe pneumonia and CHD. She was treated at the nearby UNC Johnson hospital, she returned to Springbrook under hospice care. The staff has always been great and they will tell you she was, too. She was always grateful for what was done for her. They all came to her room to welcome her home. So sweet.

Upon looking at previous reviews for this facility throughout the years, it seems to stay consistent with short staff, making it difficult for the staff members to accommodate and service the individuals in need whom are all paying to be there. I chose this facility because it was closer in proximity to me, and I felt like since my mother was only needing short-term care to assist with getting back to her regular schedule that they could accommodate her appropriately. Her first night she has severe anxiety because they had a hard time with getting the oxygen to work, thanking God that she had her portable oxygen from home with her so she could use that while they worked on the one at the facility ( they did work on it and get it running) Then she had two days of not having her clothes not changed so she just stayed in night wear & only needed assistance because of her lack of oxygen and being worn out quickly. Because she didn’t want to bother the aids, so I told her that was their job just like how we were in education and I now currently assist with people of different abilities. They are there to assist so you should not feel like you’re bothering someone who’s getting paid to assist you. When I asked if they had a basin so that water could just be put in it the nurse then informed me that her aid should be doing that, and I intern let her know that it had not happened in the past two days. She let me know that should not have happened and proceeded to get the aid who was helping another facility resident but she did say she would get to her. We also have the issue of being put in the bathroom and left there, though all she was doing was urinating and would not be there long just needed assistance back to the chair. I’m not sure if the lack of AIDS daily is due to the lack of actual clients that are being served, thus not having the proper funding to pay for the aides or if the issues because they do not wish to put the monies and funds towards actually having someone there to help. One person, can’t do it by themselves And the people are definitely not receiving one hour worth of service from an Aide more less the 2 1/2 hours that the site says each individual should receive. My mother did receive assistance from the occupational therapist, but she also noted that she was not supposed to be doing it. She was just trying to help. Praying for the facility, praying for the staff, and above all else praying for all the individuals being serviced currently and to come. We treat people the way we want to be treated. We do to others, what we want and as we would have them due to us. You never know where you will end up or your family members are close friends so you always think about how would I want them or myself to be served. 🙏🏾🤍 (positive note, anyone that I did spoke to in person thus far while my mom has been there, whether it was a nurse, nurse aid or assistant aid they were all polite Thank You💛)

My father was recently at Springbrook and had an excellent experience. First, all the staff from admin to nurses to PTs, cooks, maintenance, cleaning were all so friendly. They were always interactive and very responsive to my dad’s needs. His room and bed sheets were thoroughly cleaned every day. And the nursing staff worked very hard to keep him clean and well shaven. Kudos to the nursing staff for their hard work. We definitely noticed and so did my dad. And we sincerely thank you for showing him such love and compassion. The admin staff were equally attentive and quickly answered any issue we rose with a positive solution. And the PT team, headed by Eric, was exceptional and constantly encouraging my dad. They got him standing up, walking, and climbing stairs again. We all thank you for that! Lastly, the facilities are very nice. My dad’s room was of a good size and he said the bed and recliner were very comfortable. They also had a kitchen and two living rooms outside his room for group gatherings and dining. This made him feel very safe and ‘at home’. All in all his stay was excellent. We are not sure why some people have posted such negative reviews but feel perhaps their expectations are for a private service resort with fine dining. All the food I saw looked good and they even had lots of snacks. So from his wife and children. A sincere “THANK YOU” to the team at Springbrook. You earned it!!

Recently I spent 31 days at this facility, and it was, for me, a very, very unpleasant stay. Upon arrival here as I was being admitted, the lady said to me you have very good insurance, and it has approved you for 100 days and we encourage you to use every one of them. They are very understaffed, and you are very lucky if your nurse call bell is answered in less than 30 minutes and sometimes an hour. On my second day there, an aid was asked to help me lift my leg to roll over, but she said she was tired, and she lunged at my leg and caused trauma to the incision site. When I complained about the food. I will post some pictures of the food I was served. I was told by staff that people don’t come here for the food, and I could do door dash as some patients do, but we encourage the family to bring your meals to you. Why, when my insurance company pays for them to give me 3 nutritional meals a day. A gentleman that is from the far side of the facility is allowed to roam the halls and go into the residents’ rooms and rummage through their belongings and slam doors and I am told they cannot keep him out as the facility is his home and he can go wherever he wants. Some of my therapy was aggressive and I had my pectoral muscles strained, which was very painful as they are the muscles you need for lifting yourself from bed to chair. Everyone says it is a beautiful place, and it is, but a little paint can hide a lot of ugly. I tried several times to talk to the administrator but never saw her. I was told they were out of coffee cups and were served coffee in a glass. Every staff member I talked with agreed that the facility had issues. This is just some of the issues I encountered. I am new to the area, and this is the facility the hospital chose for me. On my last day when the nurse administered my morning med, she had me sign a paper for the remainder of my meds to take home. I never saw or talked with another staff member that day until an aid brought my lunch tray which was too disgusting to eat. It is the last picture with the spillage. My daughter came to pick me up, made several trips to load the car, then put me in a wheelchair and wheeled me out carrying my walker on my toes and passing several staff and not one asked where we were going and if approved. I had no discharge papers or any instructions of what or what not to do. This is not meant to be slanderous toward anyone or this facility. These are just a few of the incidents that happened to me.

My mother is currently staying at Springbrook for her rehab after her hip replacement surgery. This place definitely deserves 5 star review! We applaud for the professional, caring, and attentive service she receives. The Physical, Occupational, and Speech therapists come everyday to take her for exercise according to her recovery level. They often encourage her to do more if she can tolerate. The CNAs and nurses come on time to give her medicine everyday, and they respond to ring pretty quickly. Private room has a roomy bathroom and the room is equipped with a couch, chair, dresser, nightstand, etc. My mother feels the staff members truly care about her recovery, and the help, attentiveness, and encouragements she gets from them has been a huge spirit boost for her during this difficult time while no family visitation is permitted. The staff not only provide excellent rehab and nursing service, but also care enough to make an 88 year old look at her best! Bottom line is, she is happy there, and she is recovering at an amazing speed. We are so lucky to have found this place for her! Highly recommended!
