We recently put my mother in Spring Village and has exceeded our expectations. Everybody is so nice and caring and professional from the nurses to aids, maintenance guys, office people have all been great. Wish we would have brought my mother here sooner. I would highly recommend Spring Village. Place is very clean. Big thank you to all the staff at Spring Village.

On February 25, my husband and I visited Spring Valley Home Care in East Stroudsburg to explore placement options for my mother. We met with Director Anthony DeLuca, who was personable and gave us a tour of the facility. He advised that my mother would need to be in the dementia care unit. At the time, she was still hospitalized, and we anticipated a short-term rehab stay before transitioning her to Spring Valley. During the tour, Anthony showed us a large whiteboard behind his desk with room assignments and stated that he had a bed available for my mother, possibly even a private room for a short time. He explained that to secure the placement, we needed to pay a $7,300 community fee (deposit), which would hold the room for 30 days. After discussing it with my family, we contacted him the next day and asked him to hold the room. He agreed but reiterated that the $7,300 deposit was required. We confirmed we would bring the payment after verifying funds with the bank. My husband even stopped by again to express our commitment. On Monday, March 2, I delivered a check for $7,300. I also informed the facility that I would complete the necessary paperwork within the week, as my mother was still under medical care. After that, I attempted to contact Anthony three times but received no response. On March 5, the hospital contacted me to arrange my mother’s discharge. I informed them that she had a placement secured at Spring Valley. However, when the hospital case manager contacted Anthony, he stated that no bed would be available for at least 2–3 weeks. This was both confusing and upsetting, as we had paid the deposit with the clear understanding that a bed was being held for her. After multiple attempts, Anthony finally returned my call and denied ever stating that a bed was available. He insisted my mother was expected to remain in rehab for several weeks. When I explained that rehab was not an option and that we needed the placement as discussed, he stated again that no space was available. I then questioned why the facility accepted a $7,300 deposit and showed us a specific room if no bed was actually available. Anthony denied that those conversations took place and said he would speak with his director about issuing a refund, which could take 3–4 weeks. It is concerning that payment was required immediately, yet the return of those funds would be significantly delayed. Based on this experience, I believe the deposit was accepted despite no actual availability, with the expectation that time in rehab would bridge the gap. This felt misleading and unprofessional.

Our father was lovingly and professionally cared for at Spring Village for almost five years. We are so very grateful to the entire staff for not only providing expert care but love. He was extremely happy there and enjoyed every single staff member. Our family never once had a complaint or negative observation. We praise every member of the staff for their incredible dedication, always going the extra mile for our dad. We are thankful that our wonderful father got the care he deserved.
