A resident expressed that there was nothing on the menu they liked, Michelle from the kitchen took the time to talk with them and find a meal they would enjoy using ingredients available in the kitchen.<br>Michelle's willingness to listen, take extra time, and prepare something specifically for the resident made a meaningful difference. Thank you for showing compassion and going the extra mile.

A women named Sue helped clean a long term residents room who had a lot if items. So much it was under and on her bed making the room look cluttered. After Sue and the resident were done working together the room was neat and tidy. Thank you for creating a trusting relationship with our residents.

My fourth stay at South Hills Post Acute (SHPA) was a very positive experience and I particularly want to thank the therapy team. The Occupational and Physical therapists were knowledgeable, encouraging and sincerely invested in my recovery. They encouraged me to work toward my goals while always showing patience, compassion and respect. Their expertise and positive attitude gave me confidence and played a significant role in my progress and recovery. I am grateful.<br><br>I also want to acknowledge the nurses, nursing assistants and support personnel<br>who provided excellent care throughout my stay. Everyone treated me with kindness, professionalism and respect. I am grateful.<br><br>Recovering after a hospitalization is never easy. I've returned to SHPA four times because the teamwork and dedication of the entire SHPA staff made a meaningful difference. I truly appreciate the wonderful care I received and will continue to confidently recommend South Hills Post Acute (SHPA) to anyone in need of rehabilitation services.<br><br>SHPA is a blessing in my life that enabled me to regain my strength and confidence so that I could return home and "age in place". I am grateful.

This was, without question, the worst healthcare facility experience our family has ever had. I would never recommend sending a loved one here—especially a parent.<br><br>My mother was admitted for rehabilitation, yet during the nine days she was there, she never received the rehabilitation she was admitted for. A physical therapist finally came to see her after she had already been there for seven days. By that time, she had spent most of her stay lying in bed.<br><br>What made the situation even more upsetting was that she was often left in bed because no one would help get her dressed or out of bed. There were also times when she was left sitting in urine without being changed promptly. No patient—especially an elderly person—should ever be treated that way.<br><br>Even more concerning, she was not given her insulin as prescribed. To make matters worse, the attending physician never saw her during her entire stay.<br><br>The first time I visited her on the second floor, I stepped off the elevator and was immediately met with the smell of urine. That was a major red flag and reflected the overall condition of the facility.<br><br>After nine days of virtually no meaningful care, we decided to remove her. Instead of facilitating her discharge, the staff delayed the process for hours, telling us the doctor had to see her before she could leave. Our response was simple: **Where has the doctor been for the past nine days?** We felt the delays were unnecessary, so we took her out rather than continue waiting.<br><br>Based on our family's experience, this facility failed to provide the basic level of care my mother deserved. Our elderly loved ones deserve to be treated with dignity, compassion, and respect. When families entrust a rehabilitation facility with the care of a parent or grandparent, they should be able to expect timely medical attention, prescribed medications, rehabilitation services, assistance with basic hygiene, and a clean environment.<br><br>One final thought: if the time and energy spent responding to negative Google reviews were instead focused on patient care, I believe this facility's reputation would improve on its own. Great reviews are earned through quality care—not through responses to criticism. Families are trusting you with the people they love most. That trust should always be your highest priority.<br><br>Sadly, that was not our experience here.
