This is the best nursing rehabilitation & retirement facility in the area. Enough good things cannot be said about them. Night and day difference from some of the other ones in the area. Very clean, very professional

I do not enjoy leaving bad reviews. However, I believe others in my situation need to understand how some care facilities view certain types of patients. I am very disheartened by Snyder’s recent treatment of my mother’s case. Snyder had an available bed for short term rehab which my mother needs after a fall and hip surgery. However they denied her after they saw her dementia diagnosis, with no personal evaluation or explanation to us, even after they previously made it sound on the phone as if taking her was a guarantee. I spoke with Kim again after the denial. She seemed to lack compassion for my situation and admitted they don’t want to potentially “be stuck” with a patient they may not want long term or be able to readily place elsewhere after rehab. Kim seemed more indignant that I questioned the denial than caring. I believe I have a right to know why multiple “four/five” star facilities refuse to accept dementia patients, without even assessing their level of coherence. My mother has plenty of money to pay, but no good facility to take her because she is a “complex patient.” So we stay stuck in the hospital after her hip fracture It’s a travesty.

Our mother was admitted to Snyder village for rehab of a broken back. Therapy was great but the everyday care was NOT. The day she arrived the Dr prescriber pain meds for her but obviously did not look at her chart or med list as it was a medicine she was allergic to. It took several days before he corrected his mistake. Mom is on oxygen 24/7. The oxygen equipment did not seem to be working properly (which we questioned several times). A back brace was needed whenever Mom was out of bed. The CNA’s often had it on wrong or not at all. She was left in the bathroom for prolonged periods of time waiting for help. CNA’s did not answer call buttons so our mother tried to go to the bathroom on her own and fell. They did not take her to get checked after the fall even with her current broken back. Our mother ended up back at the hospital with her lungs full of fluid, overload of CO2 in her blood, and very low blood pressure from the fluid. None of these issues arose until after being at Snyder village for over a week on their equipment. I hope they get their equipment checked and working properly.

Would like to thank everyone at Snyder Village for taking wonderful care of my father E.J.H. during his stay on skilled therapy side in January 2024. They did everything to make him feel right at home. He especially loved the whirlpool bath!
