Very good facility. Concerned about our loved one. A little thin in terms of staff. Thumbs up

My husband was there for 6 weeks after a long hospital stay. The PT and OT people were wonderful. The other people, not so much. Staff (aides) had attitudes and made you feel like it was a bother to be called. My husband would be helped to the bathroom, and then left on the toilet alone, sometimes as long as 45 minutes. The food was awful. The case manager seemed vindictive if you spoke up. I don't recommend this place, but hate to say too much, because my husband may have to go back there some time.

The care my husband received at Sloan's Lake Rehab was excellent. Staff members were caring and efficient, his PT and OT sessions provided excellent support. I am so thankful that he was sent to Sloan's Lake!

My father was in this place for over 2 weeks.
I raised the review to 2 stars and firmly stand by that rating even after speaking to the top people in charge. I will only give this place 2 stars because of several CNAs who are wonderful.
They are completely understaffed. It takes them a long time to answer call lights, if they answer at all, because there are not enough CNAs. However, the head nurse during the weekend has plenty of time to sit and do nothing at the front desk. He was condescending and belittling to my father.
We even hired CNA to sit with my father in the morning during weekdays because they are completely untrustworthy.
The last sunday that I went in, the blinds were still drawn at 10:30 and he was still in his nightclothes AND wearing a diaper. He has never needed a diaper even while he was in the hospital after his hip surgery. He did not argue because he thought they knew better.
Biggest issue was that my father fell and they covered it up instead of reporting it in his charts. I have a video of him telling exactly what happened. It took him a day to recall everything because he was very frightened and it was so upsetting. He just kept telling my stepmother , that someone kept asking him questions that day and he refused to use the commode for an entire day and they couldn't figure out why. He has VERY mild dementia, but he is very coherent and his short term memory is fluid. There were no records of it happening in his chart and his case manager said that he changed his story and that he never fell. The nurse who was with him when he fell , said that the camode they use has been a safety concern that was brought up numerous times and nothing has been done about it.
The CNA that we hired said that this place is horrible and she would never send anyone there.
He went home too early, in my opinion, but at least tea is safe and taken care of properly.
