Since 1935 Singleton Health Care Center has been and continues to be a family owned and operated 50 bed facility with the owner/administrator on the premises full time. We are a skilled nursing and long term care facility. Additionally, we have 22 private assisted living beds which are Medicaid Waiver approved and are located in our beautifully restored mansion which has been maintained keeping its wonderful charm.
Assisted Living
Our Assisted Living goal is to keep each resident in the least restrictive, most enriching, environment possible, allowing for the maximum level of independence.
In addition to our skilled nursing/long term care unit, Singleton Health Care is a licensed residential care facility or commonly referred to as Assisted Living. Our assisted living certification comes through the widely recognized Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging (WRAAA aka Waiver program). We accept residents with Medicaid as their primary insurance into our assisted living unit, provided that they meet the appropriate level of care. As an assisted living waiver facility, we provide a private room with a private bath and shower, most of which are newly renovated. We provide the privacy and independence that all residents deserve, with the comfort of knowing there is nursing staff on premises available 24 hours a day. Residents receive three home cooked meals a day as well as two snacks, and a full scale laundry service. A full daily schedule of activities and outings is available if desired. The facilities Medical Director has a close relationship with our residents and can be reached at any time with any inquiries or concerns. Routine well visits and most preventative screenings occur quarterly within walking distance of the facility.
We have had excellent results from our annual state compliance surveys, and we are proud to be citation free from the WRAAA annual survey.

Our Staff: We believe that our staff is our greatest asset. We are committed to giving our staff all the tools they need to be successful. As a result, we have experienced very low staff turnover which is a major factor in why our care is excellent. By keeping a great staff for over 25 years in many cases, we can ensure consistency and continuity of care.
Administrator
Whenever I am asked how long I’ve been at Singleton I know that my response is going to make people smile. Well, I grew up here at Singleton when my father Mr. Garth Ireland was the owner/administrator but if you want to know how long I’ve been employed here at Singleton (here’s the fun part) it was since I was about ten years old. Mostly, people give me the must be joking look Until I explain that I started working at Singleton in the summers doing activities and housekeeping and then when I finished my degree I took over for my father as the administrator. This is one of the things that makes Singleton such a unique and special place. Growing up here I learned from my father that every person deserves to be treated with respect, compassion, and love. He always took the time to sit with residents and really develop relationships with them. I did not realize then how unique it was to have the owner and the administrator take the time to connect with residents, and it’s something that I prioritize for myself.
Singleton is a family operation, and it’s our goal to make each and every resident who lives here at Singleton feel that they are a part of the family. I have a beautiful wife and three wonderful sisters who are also a part of Singleton. My wife Channa, does quality assurance, my sister Rachel does the payroll and accounts payable, my sister Sara is the activities director and my sister Adina is the charge nurse for the assisted living unit. To us, Singleton is not just a job. Singleton is our family’s organization and we each take special pride in making it a great facility.
These days, I have five beautiful children of my own. My oldest son who is 12 has spent the last two summers working here at Singleton, just as I did for my Dad when I was young. He may choose to go into the family business one day or he may carve out a different path. Either way, the lesson of treating people with respect, compassion, and love that he is learning at Singleton can be applied just about anywhere.

I have been visiting singleton ever since I was a child when my father was the owner/administrator. Now as an adult, after receiving my LPN license, I am so honored to be employed here as the charge nurse for the assisted living unit.

Our Skilled nursing unit is located in an addition that we constructed to our original building in 2003. Our assisted living unit is located in fully renovated original Tudor style home which is visible from the street. We are proud to have the unique situation where our building structure combines traditional classic style with modern amenities.
