About Silverado Hermann Park Memory Care Community

Silverado Hermann Park is a memory care community in Houston, Texas, located in the heart of the city near the Museum District and the Texas Medical Center. It provides assisted living and specialized memory care, focusing specifically on enriching the lives of residents living with memory impairment.

The community is organized across three floors and three distinct neighborhoods, each designed to meet residents at different stages of dementia. The Nexus neighborhood serves early-stage residents at higher cognitive levels who remain more independent, the Enrichment neighborhood supports residents in the transitional stages, and the later-stage neighborhood is designed for residents who may have lost the ability to communicate verbally and require a high degree of assistance with daily activities.

Caregiving staff go through a Dementia Care Certification program requiring 40 hours of classroom and hands-on training, and the community offers an internationally recognized program for early-stage residents that combines science and social engagement. Residents participate in varied activities, such as an anatomy club where they prepare healthy salads and fresh juice while learning about nutrition, as well as game nights and other engagement events organized to fill each day with activity and connection.

Dining is overseen by a culinary director with roots in New Orleans, Louisiana, who develops menus incorporating Southern cuisine while working with dietitians and medical staff to accommodate residents' diverse dietary needs, with an emphasis on fresh ingredients and creative presentation.

The community benefits from its location in one of the largest concentrations of quality medical care in the world, situated near the Texas Medical Center, giving residents proximity to extensive medical resources.

I recently had the opportunity to tour this memory care facility while exploring options for a loved one, and I was truly impressed. From the moment I walked in, it was clear that this is a place where residents are treated with genuine compassion and respect. The environment is warm, clean, and thoughtfully designed to feel comfortable and safe. What stood out most to me was the staff—they were attentive, kind, and clearly dedicated to providing high-quality care. You can tell they take the time to get to know each resident and create a supportive, engaging atmosphere. Making decisions about memory care is never easy, but visiting this community gave me a real sense of reassurance. It’s a beautiful facility with a team that truly cares, and I would feel confident entrusting a loved one to their care. Huge thanks to Alison, Mikaela, Leslie, and Gigi for being so sweet and informative during my visit! Highly recommend this beautiful facility!

My mom has been at the Silverado since last July. The staff and administration has been so supportive during this difficult time for our family. Knowing that my mom is at the Silverado has brought so much peace of mind, knowing that she’s gonna be taken care of, loved and treated like family. The staff loves her and she loves the staff. She’s doing karaoke, drumming classes, cooking classes that stimulate her mind . She’s getting good food, good rest and the communication has been great.Thank you Silverado.

My wife has been a resident of Silverado Hermann Park for nearly two years. She is in hospice care, a victim of advanced dementia. In many ways she has improved - more relaxed, smiles more than her last days at home, more responsive, happier - since joining the community I believe this is largely due to the professionalism, kindness and personal care - loving care - of her nurses and caregivers. The facility is not fancy but it is safe, clean and welcoming. Family and friends are welcome. There are no set visiting hours, and several resident dogs wander around the halls (not dining rooms) and secure courtyard, often cuddled by residents. I would recommend anyone looking for a possible future home for their loved ones to visit Silverado Hermann Park and see for yourself.
