I found out my dad had been moved here for a few days from his home. I made a road trip down there to say my final goodbyes. He was in a room all the way in the back with two other people that looked just like him and the room was the hottest room in the whole place. We had to ask staff to bring a portable air conditioner in there because my dad was extremely hot and I was fanning him the entire time I was there and putting cold rags on his head. He was a fall risk (told when I got there that he's fallen) and he's placed in a bed with no rails and he kept trying to get up and he had bruises all over his body from falling. Nobody ever really came in to check on him or any of the other patients in his room. This place is so confusing to me and what it offers because he's not able to drink any water or eat on his own and yet he isn't hooked up to any type of equipment or an iv or anything just left there to pretty much die. It was so sad and heartbreaking and a really hard way to see my dad in this condition with very little help. It's like he just got moved from home to suffer alone in a hot room with no care.
