Shepherd's Garden

Shepherd's Garden is an affordable housing community in Lynnwood, Washington, serving low-income seniors aged 62 and older. The eco-designed, energy-efficient community is conveniently located approximately 15 miles from downtown Seattle and provides independent living in a supportive residential setting.

The community consists of 40 one-bedroom apartments. Residents benefit from on-site services including a service coordinator who connects residents to community and medical services. The community features a garden with raised plant beds specifically designed for seniors to use, and weight-loss group meetings are held at the adjacent Good Shepherd Church.

Pets are welcome at Shepherd's Garden. Residents are permitted to keep common household pets in their apartments, and service or assistance animals are also welcome. Pet rules are in place to maintain a safe and sanitary living environment, with guidelines on registration, inoculation, waste disposal, and restraint in common areas. Service animals and their owners are exempt from pet rules, though residents remain responsible for the care and maintenance of their assistance animals.

Reasonable accommodations are provided for residents with disabilities to ensure equal access to the community and its amenities. Management works through a process of dialogue and problem solving when accommodations are requested. Smoking is permitted only in designated areas, and residents must sign a non-smoking agreement.

Rent at Shepherd's Garden is determined through HUD provisions based on household income, with the tenant's portion typically amounting to 30% of their monthly adjusted income.
