As a hospice social worker, I have cared for many patients at Shepherd Personal Care Home. The home is always warm and welcoming. The environment is clean and the staff take excellent care of the residents. The owner Liz, is involved and engaged with all aspects of care of the residents and their families. I never hesitate to refer a family to Shepherd. I only wish there were more personal care homes like Shepherd.

My mother in law is currently in the care of Shepherd Personal Care home and has been residing there for 10 months. I am a nurse myself and her medical power of attorney. I can personally say that I would recommend this PCH above any other residential health facility. Liz, the owner is very involved in the day to day care of the patients and communication is excellent. My mother in law has had several health issues and Liz and her staff are very attentive and on top of things. She has had very good home cooked meals and gets a bath every day. She came into their care from a skilled nursing facility with surgical wounds and pressure sores. I am a wound care nurse and was allowed to treat the wounds myself (that was my request). With their help, the pressure wounds were resolved quickly and no skin issues have occurred in their care. If you are looking for placement of your loved ones, look no farther.

Shepherd Personal Care Home has truly been an answer to our prayers. After trying other facilities, including nursing homes, we finally found a place that genuinely cares for our mom. Liz and her team are outstanding. The staff is loving, nurturing, and attentive, and their experience with dementia care brings a sense of peace and calm. We appreciate the daily communication that keeps us informed about how our mom is doing. We are so grateful to have found Shepherd Personal Care Home.

I cannot say enough positive things about Shepherd Personal Care Home and the care my father received while staying here. From the very beginning, it was clear that this was a place where residents are treated as individuals—not just patients. The staff provided truly personal, tailored care and were consistently attentive to my father’s needs. Every interaction was handled with genuine kindness, professionalism, and respect. He was always treated with dignity, and it gave our family tremendous peace of mind knowing he was in capable and compassionate hands. What stood out most was how caring and engaged the staff were. They took the time to get to know him, ensured he was comfortable, and made him feel valued and respected every single day. Their attention to detail and willingness to go above and beyond made a meaningful difference in his quality of life. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone looking for assisted living for a loved one.
