The staff was mostly responsive while my grandmother was a resident. However, discharge planning could have been much better. As someone who knows nothing about elder care, it would have been fantastic for someone to take time to explain options, insurance, etc. Weeks later, I'm discovering things that could have been shared with me then by professionals in the field. I thought that was the point of a medical social worker. This would have saved time and prevented lapses in care due to financial limitations.

My mother in law lives at Atlantic Shores and had a heart attack in her apartment. After a brief stay at the hospital she was transferred to Seaside Health Center. When I got off work I went straight to there to meet her and my wife. I was impressed with the overall appearance of the facility. No nursing home smell ,and just a great classy look. I also got to talk to staff . They just so knowledgeable about my mother-in-law care. They took time to answer questions. Never making us feel like they did not have the time. Very professional, I recommended this place ,for your parents or love ones

My Mother has just spent several weeks recovering from a week in the hospital with the flu. She was terribly weak when she arrived at Seaside, and following the care , physical therapy, kindness and superb attention to all her needs , she was ready to go back to her home healthy and very appreciative. The warmth and professionalism of the entire staff was exceptional. Also, the chef is creative and serves better food each meal than most of us would take the time to prepare at home. All and ALL , a five star experience.

Where do I start?! Seaside and their entire staff were AMAZINGLY Wonderful. Liz gave us a virtual tour of the facility. I actually remembered everything she showed us from December when my Mom had a stroke. We were thinking about Seaside then but decided with home health, which actually turned out horrible. Anyhoo, that’s for another review. Liz was very positive and upbeat. The staff seemed very professional and attentive. Everything that was advertised during the virtual tour was provided and more. Seaside was one of the few rehab facilities that allowed visitors. Visitation was 8am-8pm. Upon entering the facility there were multiple sanitizer stations. Masks were available if needed. Disinfecting wipes were available as well. There is a checkin station that required your name, phone, name of resident, temperature check & and COVID related questions. Name badges were printed at station. The entire facility was extremely clean with NO “hospital smell”. I literally saw 2 pieces of trash on grounds the whole 15 days my mother was there! One piece was from my son when the wind took a wrapper from his grip. Of course he chased it down and threw it away. Not too long after a groundskeeper came up and picked the other piece up! Oh, the groundskeeping staff was amazing as well. You constantly saw them busy do something on the property. There were many of them. Ok, back to the facility. My Mom was in a semi-private room. Which meant there was supposed to be another resident however it was just her. The room was very big. We were able to bring some things from home that would make her more comfortable like a recliner, pictures and stuffed animals. The cable selection was nice. It was like my mom had personalized her favorite channels. The food was pretty good. My Mom is extremely picky when it comes to food. Not to mention she was on a diabetic diet which she hated but was best for her. The meal choices were provided 2 weeks in advance and if there was something else that she wanted the chef would try to accommodate as per dr. orders. Everyone who came in contact with my Mom was extremely friendly and patient. My family and I was nervous about the staff’s communication with my Mom because of her strokes her speech was affected. We all watched closely as they spoke to her and waited for a response. The Seaside staff is fully capable of handling senior patient’s needs. Another thing I loved was that they had daily activities and weekly outings for the patients. At first it was a bit tough getting my Mom to participate but when she did she had a great time! She made the flower arrangement below! Ohhh and the therapy department was extremely helpful and wonderful. My Mom was almost immobile when she started at Seaside. COVID had weakened her so much that she needed therapy 5-6 days a week. But due to the help of the expertise my Mom made a swift recovery! Amy was the social worker and boy oh boy was she amazing! Whenever we had a question she was there to answer almost immediately. Amy clarified all paperwork and addressed all concerns. We had a care meeting with all staff departments. At the meeting we discussed her progress and next level of care. They also addressed any concerns we had. The head chef was also there. She made several suggestions for my Mom’s meal plan which included a nightly snack. That made my Mom really happy since she normally gets hungry during the night. Every page of paperwork was carefully explained and I received a copy. The therapy team made several suggestions to help my Mom feel more comfortable at home. The other residents were nice too. There was an elderly man who loved to sing and we got to hear him sing a few songs during activity time. I could go on and on but just know if we could give them 10 STARS we would! Thank you so much Seaside Atlantic Shores! BTW the young lady with curly hair, at the front desk was so friendly. She had the most friendly smile. It was as if I could feel it behind the mask. Oh and the scenery was peaceful and serene. Great for walking and sightseeing. Choose Seaside! 😁

My parents have been living at Seaside now for a year and a half. They have been very well cared for, so well that they have actually improved from when they were living at home with home care. We are kept well informed of how they are doing. This includes communication about recommended changes in medications, doctors visits and just overall health status. Nursing staff is on top and closely monitoring my mom's blood sugar throughout the day. The facility is clean and the staff is very friendly and caring. Most of all, my parents love the food and activities. Every time I talk with them, they are happy and they often mention how good the food is!
