Been on hold for 30 mins on Monday at 9 am trying to reach a patient...<br><br>But after connecting wiith the manager/owner, its been a great experience from a family perspective. Physical therapy is going well, and nurse and PT supervisors have been very responsive and helpful with our needs.

My wife was admitted a week ago. She loves the staff and care she receives. I'm grateful for to the facility for the care they've provided for my wife. Thanks.

I was scheduled for Total Hip Replacement on 5/13/26. I called Saylor Lane a few weeks prior to make sure that they accepted my insurance and can do my rehabilitation. My mom had stayed there a few years prior so I was familiar with the facility somewhat. My description on SL would be, low budget but adequate. When I arrived the ambulance driver said something about… if I felt unsafe, or the facility seemed unsanitary and I wanted to transfer to call 911 and I can go to a different facility. I thought huh, that was unexpected. I was there less than 3 hrs and I called 911 to transfer because I felt unsafe. The firefighters said “ get used to it buddy, they’re all the same “ I think 911 is going to charge me for this!?! The Firefighter said that the ambulance driver should have never told me that. First off, no rehab equipment for my type of recovery. I was told that the old owners took everything and the new owner didn’t replace anything. They had physical therapy and occupational therapy work with me a few times in the 6 days I was there. It was adequate but the day I left I was practicing going up and down the asphalt curb on Folsom blvd because they didn’t have the proper equipment inside. No one tells me that I’m supposed to provide my own equipment for rehab until I’m already there. Incredible. I had to order my own off of Amazon. I have equipment already at home and would have brought it. No handicap toilet seats! They had a home made, PVC pipe mobile toilet that they moved in between bathrooms. The wheels were never locked. I couldn’t get help to use this contraption. It had feces smeared on it most every time I used it. I really needed help and it was hard to get. That mobile toilet contraption was for at least 8 rooms with 4 toilets for at least 20 patients. My Roommate, he had to have 24hr observation for which SL had no license for that level of care. My neighbor had to be lifted. The poor CNA has at least 20 patients and 3 patients needed to be lifted. My neighbors culture is beautiful!! Family members were constantly present. It was wonderful to see how family is supposed to be. Except I couldn’t get ANY rest. I was finally getting three straight hours of sleep a day but by day 6 of this I was so sleep deprived I felt like a zombie. My neighbor had no call light switch so I had to call the nurses for him constantly. Again, I was getting no rest after THR surgery. It sucked. I received little assistance for anything. I really needed help going to the bathroom but rarely got it. I was constantly late receiving my medication. Sometimes 1.5 hrs late. I filled my own ice packs multiple times. The employees are over worked, and grossly understaffed. You won’t get the same nurse two days in a row. There were a few employees I recognized from when my mom was there but I was told most have quit after the new owner bought it. 90% of the employees was new and most of them are good people who really try but they have a few employees that try to do absolutely nothing the whole time they are there. Some SL employees are Angels and God has a special place for them. My TV was messed up. The picture and sound went in and out and was mounted almost directly above my head, it sucked!!! After 6 days I could walk fairly good with my walker. I felt unsafe and the facility was unsanitary. I took Uber home. Nobody helped me as I left. I tripped on the carpet going out the door and almost fell, not good!! I’m at home taking care of myself alone 13 days after THR surgery. I should still be in a proper rehabilitation facility. Today’s health care sucks and it doesn’t seem like it will improve anytime soon. I should have took pictures and i should have chosen Bruceville Terrace instead. At least they’re professional. Lastly, the cook is incredibly talented. She can take government, commercial ingredients and make something out of it. Some main courses were incredible and some were inedible. It’s what kept me there for 6 days or I would have left sooner. Thanks for reading.

Saylor Lane. What can I say?<br>I have been an active 82 year old,<br>walking with a cane, and suddenly, unable to even stand . I have been here nearly 3 months, and have been actively involved in therapy, learning to walk again.<br><br>The first month, I was frightened I would never walk again. Now, preparing to go home. I am thankfully walking again, with help of a walker.<br><br>My first impression of the place was when the social services director delivered my mail to my room, more than once, with a smile. Zanda is an asset to Saylor. I was so afraid they would send me home without being able to walk. Her bedside manner, her kind attitude is so important. Especially to those needing an extra boost. I so appreciate her.<br><br>*The CNA’s are such hard workers. Yasmine, Sandeep, Meliki, Bunu, Karen, JJ, Ike, Donna, BB , Maria, and Christina, all have great expertise and know how caring for patients. Kamala, John, “In” , and Russell add a big dose of humor and laughter, which is so, so appreciated! All the CNA’s work so well together, like a family.<br><br>Martha is such a wonderful part of Saylor. She weighs the patients as perscribed, on a special chair, and is always helping where needed, in a number of ways!<br><br>Mohammed is activities director, available to help patients in countless ways. He also keeps the activities room decorated and ready for patients and visitors who seek a change of scenery, from their rooms.<br><br>The Registered Nurses on staff who work hard are Grace, who is in charge of the nursing unit and Daljig.<br><br>The LVN’s - Noel, Sam, Janet,Nicki, Jeff, and Belinda, have the responsibility of handling meds, and administering them to each individual,as prescribed. They greet us with a smile, whether passing out meds at 8 a.m. or waking us up at 3 a.m.<br><br>Erika and Susanna clean every room, every day, and more than once,when needed! No wonder there is always a pleasant smell. So important to a facility such as this!<br><br>Dr. Dehir, and nurse practitioner, Alene, are here, regularly, and are actively involved in the care of each patient. Very impressive!<br><br>The laundry department under Fatima, with Arun and staff working hard daily, to wash, dry, sort, and try to deliver items to the right patients. I appreciates the<br>efforts..<br><br>But most vital are the physical therapists: Roberto, Sarah, Kendal, and Maureen. They are relentless in their pursuit of guiding the patients to slowly restore their level of movement they have difficulty with.<br><br>My emotions went from frightened - to resentment- to appreciation! Truly! The challenge of not being able to stand, to learning to walk again, has been difficult, but so rewarding.<br><br>They team strongly, but patiently, encouraged me to push myself as far as I could! With a number of exercises and movements. I so appreciate their determination to bring out the best I can muster! Your faith in me has carried me through. Thank you dear team! You are great!<br><br>Preparing food for a large group is difficult! Milan and crew work hard to make a balanced meal tasty, to satisfy each patient, even offering an alternative menu.<br>Roast beef, meat loaf, spaghetti, chili, and chicken salad on a croissant, are some of my favorites.<br><br>I cannot tolerate a lengthy stay anywhere, but home. Yet,here I am, nearly 3 months at Saylor Lane, and sad I will be leaving. I will miss this place, and many folks I have grown fond of!<br><br>If I did not name you, you may have been a tremendous help, but I may not have ever gotten your name! Please consider yourself praised as well!.<br><br>And a special tribute to my dear, dear roommate, Ida. We immediately bonded, and her one month stay was a most meaningful time for me. She was almost 97, and sharp as a tack. Sadly she passed 2 days after going home.<br><br>And I will forever remember my sweet friend, Lloyd. A long time patient with a charming personality and Jamaican touch, and a joyful soul.<br><br>Kudos to management! Your facility is outstanding.
