This is an Outstanding Staff Review. I would like to bring to your attention Rosa Vargas, who exemplifies friendliness, a caring and attentive attitude, and is excellent in her role as Dietary Manager at Saratoga View Senior Living. I was visiting a resident there during the week of Mother's Day May 5 - May 11. My relative, Janice Nau, is struggling with rehabilitating from a very injurious fall in early January, which has impacted her mobility, strength, endurance, and now her cognition, and memory. She moved into Assisted Living at the end of March 2026, so was fairly new to that setting. She had opted to eat in her room due to challenges with walking to the dining room, and also partly due to being unacquainted with other residents. Rosa had helped make the in-room meals happen for Janice. At the end of the week, we looked forward to a special Mother's Day dinner on the evening of May 8, 2026, that Rosa had orchestrated. It was beautiful and very enjoyable! The meal was delicious and nicely prepared, (salmon filet, roasted vegetables), the dining room was lovely, and there was a fun ice cream buffet for dessert. Rosa made Janice feel welcome, helping find a convenient place to sit, seeing to her needs personally and through her staff, and also taking time to make Janice's guests feel welcome. This evening was a "breakthrough" for my sister in-law, as she finally felt comfortable in the dining room, and was willing to try harder to go to meals in-person. We continued to go to more meals during my visit, so that Janice could get in the habit, and also with the side benefit of getting exercise walking from her room at the end of the corridor to the dining room. Sometimes she chose to eat in her room after that week, and I know Rosa and her staff were helpful with that happening. During my time there it appeared that Rosa had good rapport with her staff, that they worked well together, and that they respected each other. You are fortunate to have such a high caliber employee in a supervisory role, who cares for the residents in a way that they feel! Sincerely, Nancy Woodruff
