When one can no longer be in their own home this is a very comforting, pleasant, safe environment. The staff are second to none in their manner of caring for the residents. They are so kind, polite, and caring it’s obvious they respect and take pride in being with your loved ones. Plattsburgh is blessed to have this totally updated facility to help meet the needs and challenges of the growing population that can no longer reside safely at home.

Unfortunately, I made an appointment for a tour through the “automated secretary“.When I got there, no one was aware that I had an appointment. However, Mr. Prue gave us a spectacular tour, and the facility is absolutely outstanding.

After touring several assisted living facilities, we chose the Samuel F. Vilas Home for my dad, and we couldn’t be happier. The staff genuinely care about the residents, and the proximity to CVPH is a huge bonus. The home’s rich history gives it a unique character, and the residents seem genuinely happy.
