My mother was blessed to call Rise and Shine AFH home for four years, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about the owners, Chuck and Yelena. They are truly exceptional caregivers who treat every resident with compassion, dignity, and love. The home is always clean, comfortable, and cozy—When you walk in, it feels like home. The property is peaceful, with plenty of beautiful green space for residents to enjoy. One of my mother's favorite pastimes was sitting on the patio watching the free-range chickens in their large fenced area. The fresh eggs at breakfast were definitely an added bonus! During my mother's time at Rise and Shine, there were only three to five residents at any given time, allowing each person to have their own space and receive individualized attention. Chuck and Yelena live on the upper level of the home, and at least one of them—often both—is on site at all times. Their dedication and hands-on involvement gave me tremendous confidence that my mother was receiving the best possible care. Meals are served family-style, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Residents also enjoy activities such as bingo, puzzles, and arts and crafts, which help keep them engaged, social, and creative. They also coordinate monthly visits from a foot care specialist, and nursing delegates are available whenever additional medical support is needed. The greatest gift Rise and Shine gave me was peace of mind. Knowing that my mother was safe, happy, well cared for, and, most importantly, genuinely loved when I couldn't be with her meant everything to me. I wholeheartedly recommend Rise and Shine AFH to anyone looking for a caring, compassionate, and truly exceptional adult family home for their loved one.
