Please be warned of Right At Home by someone who has experience with their caregivers. I am a Senior woman with no mental illness or memory issues. I live a healthy lifestyle, cook my own meals, and keep an immaculate home. The first caregiver was only 19 years old. She did one load of laundry and poured bleach directly on my new sheet set and med line pillowcases. I had to purchase new ones. I dress gothic biker style. I’ve had four motorcycles; the last one was an 1100 Yamaha Virago fully dressed. Black is color of choice and so are boots, hats and fashionable leather gloves. This particular caregiver reported that she thought I was violent because of how I dressed and because I had on gloves. My apartment door opens up to the smoke alarm right overhead. I learned from incense how sensitive it was because the firetrucks got called out. Strange how my apt. smoke alarms did not go off but the hallway one did. I was warned by housing I could get a leasing violation. Due to my Spirituality beliefs, I sage my home and use methods for house blessings. So I decided to buy drapes and hang them in the entry hall with a beautiful plant n door mat. This same caregiver told the supervisor she thought I was schizophrenic and paranoid due to wear I hung my drapes. Now, think about this. These statements, false misleading assumptions are placed in my file. What if this happened to you or your parent or grandmother? I asked for a different caregiver and got a mature woman who seemed more efficient. The second visit she took me grocery shopping. On the way out I was standing in line to get a money order. I glanced at the phone and realized she had to sign out within 45 minutes. I was concerned and asked her to call in and see if she could use next weeks hour to stay an extra hour today. The office told her no. All I said was I have too much to do and not enough time. Came home. A couple days later I get a call from Innovage and now I’m being admonished for being in the caregiver’s car. I was read an email from what was reported the day I was at the store. It read that because I was told she couldn’t stay an extra hour I began to freak out. So now my file states such malicious, defamatory statements that my character is now flipped from stable to ? That’s Slander. They should be sued for libel!
