Our dear 91 y/o mom spent time at Rice Estate after falling and breaking her hip. She was unable to stand. One day, I walked into her room and found her doubled over in an unlocked wheelchair. I requested help from a CNA. She came in and said that if Mama didn't participate in physical therapy "it's three strikes and you're out, and Medicare won't pay for it." Astounded, I said to the CNA that a little compassion goes a long way. Then I went to the nursing director's office, relayed the interaction with the CNA, and demanded my mom be taken home that day. Mama was brought home via ambulance a couple of days later. She died at home within the week.
I would never recommend Rice Estate to anyone.

My husband was in there for rehabilitation from March 11th to April 5th he needed help walking ,they left him in the bathroom for almost a hour his legs were going numb they didn't answer the call button so he tried to got up to get to his wheelchair that was not locked down and fell,he called for help and someone came in but it wasn't a CNA . While he was there
he needed his temporary disability paper work for his job filled out it took them almost 3 weeks and me calling at least 3 times a week to get it done I ask for a note with a day on it so he can return to work we were told when he left on the 5th it would be mailed to us with in a week, 3 weeks later I finally got a hold of somebody and ask were the note was I was told that he was released on the 5th and they were not responsible for him anymore I had to wait for almost 2 weeks to take him to his doctor's appointment to get a note for him to return to work he lost part of two pay checks because of Rice nursing home .

I would like to sincerely thank all the staff at Rice Estates (Arbor Facility) for my dad’s recent respite visit from June 5 - 19, 2026. Those individuals include: Tiana in Admissions, Tarika, Nurse Case Manager, Christa Thomas, RN, Ashley Pernell, LPN, Ayanna Person, LPN, Diamond Nying, LPN, Mahogany Harris, CNA, Kisha Hill, CNA, Kimyetta Tucker, CNA, Rose Holley, CNA, Lajoshalyn Edmond, CNA, Juanita Hill, Unit Secretary, and Imani McQueen, Receptionist. He was very well taken care of he felt at ease and comfortable during his entire stay at your facility. I concur with the same sentiment when I visited him on June 12 - 14, 2026. The outside of the Arbor facility is well landscaped, and the interior was very well-kept including hallways, bathrooms, my dad's room, nurse's station, and the front lobby entrance. Imani (front desk receptionist) was always a pleasure to speak with when I arrived to sign in for each of my three visits at the facility. If my dad needs any additional respite visits, I will be sure to reach out to his VA Social Worker (S. Fontaine) to get that scheduled. Thank you so much!

Rice Estates Rehabilitation. I am not going to lie my mom was difficult because of her dementia. And the staff did a wonderful job at containing her. Mom could walk with a walker. However, Rice Estate rehabilitation refused to give her the walker to get around. They only allowed her to scoot around in a wheelchair, unless she was doing her rehabilitation.

I give 5 stars to Rice Estate with confidence! Rice Estate is the third Assisted Living facility that my parents have lived in. The other two promised the moon and delivered extremely poor care. Rice is the opposite. Night and day difference! Most residents keep their doors open and the staff keep very close eyes on everyone in their care. The Administrators and staff truly CARE about my parents. Their corporate office is local. Being a non profit organization, they put the care and well being of their residents before profit.
