My husband is currently a resident and has been for 2 1/2 years at Ravenwood Memory Care facility. I have had previous experiences with OTHER residential assisted living and memory care facilities with my dad and my brother in Springfield, Mo.In my opinion, Ravenwood Memory Care facility is one of the best that you could place your loved one into their care. I had to remove my dad from one of the other (to remain nameless)facility after 2 months due to lack of proper care, contributing to his sooner than expected death. My brother's experience at another facility was also so poor, that he left as soon as he could. I would not allow my husband to stay somewhere that I felt was not safe or meeting his needs. The staff is phenomenal and my husband has never complained to me about his care or any of the staff members. I have been there visiting my husband a lot over the past two years and observed the dedicated service and care the employees provide. It is one of love and support. When I first began my search for placement for my husband, a wise lady who had also dealt with placement of her husband told me, make sure when you ask someone of their experience with a facility, is it current information, or from their experiences, months or years ago? At some places, staffing turns over quite frequently. I greatly appreciate the consistency of the same staff members and their previous length of time working there. That says a lot about management. As I found out in my dad's case, attitude starts from the top. If there is not a good relationship and support with standards set for employees, it will be obvious in the length of time the employees stay. My family and I are deeply grateful we are able to have my husband at the Memory care facility at Ravenwood.
