Rest Haven Homes, founded in 1941, is a senior-care community to over 100 residents. Our residents reside in independent apartments or our licensed Home for Aged on six-acres nestled in a residential neighborhood in northeast Grand Rapids.

Our licensed assisted living provides low to high care for residents with physical and cognitive needs, including secure memory care for residents with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. We are dedicated to higher staffing levels, providing staff with dementia training and hiring staff who desire to help fulfill our mission: "by love serve one another" Gal. 5:13. Our structured activities are reflective of individual needs, in a secure and comfortable environment.

Rest Haven Homes is a fully private-pay facility. If you are seeking an environment that accepts Medicare and Medicaid subsidies, we can provide you with community resources to meet your family needs.

Our community of like-minded individuals enjoy Independent Living in private apartments,  Assisted Living and Secure Memory Care in shared or private rooms. Our staff is here to make these senior years enjoyable, provide assistance that is personalized, and help individuals to thrive.

Independent Living

Independence and privacy are important to all of us. Our thirty-seven apartments, located in 12 buildings along our own private road, provide the privacy and independence you desire, the safety of our emergency call system, and the sense of community enjoyed by like-minded believers living in a quiet, protected environment.

To make life a little easier, all utilities, storage sheds, covered parking, maintenance, lawn care, snow removal, and trash pick-up are included in one low monthly fee. Each apartment has separate bedroom, walk-in closet, walk-in shower, a complete modern kitchen and stackable washer and dryer with two additional laundries on the campus that accommodate larger items. Each resident receives a pendant for 24/7 emergent call for help. Residents may subscribe to cable TV (no dishes permitted), internet and phone.

You are encouraged to participate in all our independent resident activities or special events - Community Barbecue, Fourth of July Parade, Fall Festival, to name a few.

Application for a pet is available. There is a non-refundable deposit and an additional monthly fee for a pet if the pet is approved.

Assisted Living

For those requiring a little more assistance than our independent apartment residents, but who otherwise enjoy pursuing their own choices and maintaining more independence, our state-licensed Home for the Aged setting is perfect.

In our Faith and Hope wings, meals, housekeeping, laundry, medication administration and attended bath or shower are included in the monthly fee. As needs increase, we offer four levels of supportive care that provide more services to a resident to provide aging in place.

There are qualified, well-trained nurses, nursing assistants and life-enrichment aides on hand to meet our resident’s daily needs. Our physician and nurse practitioner come in from the community every week to visit residents as needed. Planned activities and special events edify our resident’s spirit, challenge their mind, and strengthen their body.

Memory Care

At Rest Haven Homes, we have been raising the bar on our standard of care for many years. Our Love Wing is a high-needs, secure area where we are committed to provide high staffing levels to meet the specialized needs of residents with various levels of memory loss and high physical needs. Our specially-trained nurses and nursing assistants serve our residents around the clock through individualized service plans.

Our high-care environment includes complete assistance with hygiene, dressing, bathing, walking, transfers and eating. We provide specialized diets including pureed of our daily entrees. We have a fall-prevention program and our staff are specially trained in wander management and challenging behaviors.

Our Life Enrichment team in Love Wing are scheduled fourteen hours daily. They enrich the lives as they meet the spiritual, social, physical, and mental needs and limitations of our residents individually and in group settings.
