I love that they have added other things for the residents to do like going shopping that is a great thing that way they won't have to stay cooped up all the time but nothing to do I just wish that my mother

I've always had a negative view of nursing homes. Let's be honest, you never hear good being said about people's experiences with a nursing home. I would like to say, Pruitt Nursing Center in Toccoa has been so good to us. They've all gone above and beyond in my opinion. We promised ourselves as a family that we'd never use a nursing home. Life had other plans and we had no choice. We were devastated. From the bottom of my heart I'm gonna say, we couldn't have asked for any better from this team. As we face my Daddy's passing in the next couple days, I'm so thankful they're in our corner. I pray God blessed each and every one of them.

My husband spent a couple of weeks here recovering for a long hospital stay to regain strength and function. This facility is one of the first, if not THE first, in the Pruitt system. And it looks it. Small cinderblock rooms with wall unit a/c like you find in old motels from the 60s and 70s. Shared bathroom with the room next to you. After leaving a very new, modern hospital (Braselton ICU, only open for about 6 months) it wasn't a great feeling. BUT! The people! We had great staff at the hospital, very professional. But these folks have taken care of my husband like he was their own family. Truly. They understood he needed extra calories after losing 29lbs in the hospital and have been feeding him double much of the time. I filled out a complete inventory of his things, which they carefully labeled for him. I watched 3 women (including management) scour the facility for a longer bed (he is 6'7"), manhandling the small one out and getting one of the two longer ones for him immediately. He came just after dinnertime, but they had a meal for him and offered me one too. They have handled transport for followup appointments. His stay included Valentine's Day. Something we haven't missed in 17 years together. The nurses learned about my inability to drive to see him, and how sad he was at not seeing me for a week. They coordinated to surprise him for the day - came to pick me up in a neighboring town, complete with gift basket and surprised him! He was in tears, I was too. Another nurse gave me a ride home later in the day. These folks do their medical job too, but in a field that more people worry about than ever in 2026, these people truly CARE. Im sure we could have gotten him into a more expensive, fancy place further from home. But I don't think his care would have been any better.

🙏 I was thrilled to see Darren Tucker, the administrator, clearing the walkways, sidewalks, and parking areas on a very icy morning! 🌨️ He had also ensured the patients using medical grade oxygen were safely relocated to rooms that were generator friendly the night before. 🌃 The friendly faces of the nurses and CNAs added a warm touch to the chilly morning ☕️. I'm grateful for their dedication!❤️
