There were a couple of caring nurses. There were one nurse who would lie to you which ended up in the death of my father. I believe she kept my Dad sedated so she would have to work. If you have any loved ones in this facility…. Keep a close eye on them. Make them show you proof they took their bp. On Monday 4/8 I called the facility to see how my Dad was doing. I ask to speck with someone in charge and was directed to the to the assistant director of nursing whom was in my dads room at the time trying to elevate my Dads bp. She then told me she was about to called the ambulance and have him sent back to Anmed. When I questioned what was going on she just said she was sorry to inform me that the nurse the day before had not actually taken his bp the day before. May Dad was talking on the Thursday before he passed. By Saturday he was not hardly eating, non verbal & hardly awake. I questioned the nurse the same one who lied to me on Sunday, she told me that he was just tired from his physical therapy from Friday. Please Move them away from a Pruitt Health facility as soon as possible.

My father started showing cognitive symptoms in early August that we immediately clocked as being the result of a uti, which we knew must have been advanced at that point based on his symptoms and previous experience. We alerted the staff, and spent several days calling and demanding care before they even ordered a urinalysis. That urinalysis came back abnormal and we were told, yes, he has a uti, and they would get an order for antibiotics. The doctor blocked the antibiotic order, on account of Pruitt's alleged "antibiotic stewardship program," and insisted on a culture, which they said was negative, and he therefore never had a uti. While all of this was going on, my father experienced such significant cognitive decline that he could no longer figure out how to make calls or answer his phone. Meanwhile, staff kept telling us he was fine and acting normal. When my mother and I went to visit him on August 15th (we live 2 hours away, so visits couldn't be as frequent as we would have liked), he was completely out of it, didn't know where he was, didn't know who the president was, couldn't feed himself or sign his name, and could barely speak. But according to the staff there, he was "fine." I demanded that he go to the ER, where he was diagnosed with a uti and started on IV Cipro. 2 days later, he had a fairly massive heart attack and was transferred from Elberton Memorial to Athens Regional. At Athens, he was diagnosed with sepsis and end stage heart failure, which the doctors told us was caused by the sepsis. My father died on Thursday, September 12th, and I have absolutely no doubt that he would still be with us if not for the flagrant neglect he experienced at this facility. Keep your loved ones away from this place at all cost!

I complained for 5 days that something was wrong with my loved one in Soring Valley but the nursing and Dr. did nothing - kept saying he was ok. When Iwent to see him, he was essentially unconscious, delirious, fevered and they had take him to the ER. He’s been in the hospital for 3 + days with no plan to discharge. He is being treated for bad UTI with IV antibiotics and evaluated for a possible brain injury!

I attended the 3-21-24 Family Night activity at Spring Valley. The senior dancers were a hit; residents, families, friends and visitors and (employees) all seemed to enjoy the night’s activity. The facility floors had been stripped and waxed recently and the building overall was in nice, clean shape. My step father is a resident here. He has received great care!. Thank you, all staff, for your continued care and service.

I am pleased with the care my mother receives from the nursing staff at Spring Valley. They are pleasant, polite and respectful. The medical staff is professional and provide our family with updates and information about my mother regularly. The facility has a wonderful little park like area outside with a sitting area and garden patio. I wish the owners were able to upgrade the patient room bathrooms and repair the cracks in the floors. The building is very old, needs some attention and a fresh modern look but thank goodness the care is not affected by that.
