My mother-n-law was at Grandview a few days for rehab. I have had some experience with nursing homes over the years and I have to say this is the worst experience I have had. With the exception of one nurse who was incredible, caring and patient, there are many issues that need to be addressed at Grandview. I had a bad feeling when I first walked in due to the upkeep of the facility, but thought that if the care was good, we could overlook the building. My mother-n-law’s call light was ignored for hours. She would have the yell for help for someone to come to her aid, particularly at night with the night shift staff. When I walked in one morning, her catheter bag was literally about to overflow and was backing up. When I brought it to the attention of the CNA she seemed very annoyed that I brought attention to it and walked out of the room without saying anything. She then walked back in with a clear trash bag, emptied the urine in the bag and then carried it out of the room. There was a bathroom in the room, so I’m not sure if this is regular protocol, but it did not seem sanitary or an appropriate practice. Thankfully we were able to get transported to a much better facility. There are caring and clean nursing home facilities in the area, but this one is not it. I don’t typically leave reviews, but hopefully this review might be helpful to someone who is considering this facility for their loved one’s care.
