I was sent to this facility for physical therapy rehab after having a knee replacement. Dropped off by transport and left in a room for an hour and a half. Probably would have been much longer if I didn’t get my room mate hit the call light to get staff in there. I could not believe as a new patient not one staff person checked on me, gave me a call light, water, and I was trapped in bed with no walker so I couldn’t use the restroom. When I was brought into the facility I was meant with the worst urine stench of my life. The room and furnishings were dark and dingy. I called my daughter and begged her to get me out of this place and she did. I was out of that place within two hours of arrival. This place is disgusting and I was afraid I’d die there of neglect. The woman in the room with me had been there eight weeks. I asked her questions about her stay and all of her responses were very negative. Food bad, nursing care bad, rehab fair. The nurse I finally got in the room said she had beeu vs n overwhelmed with other patients. I understand that but for a facility to ignore a brand new patient (not even send in an aide) to check on them is neglect. I actually was having a problem with my blood pressure that night. I am a retired nurse and I feared I’d die of a stroke that night due to neglect. I came home and hired a private caregiver and managed my blood pressure myself. Now I’m getting physical therapy at home.
